“Seal pups have started showing up on beaches, but no need to be alarmed! The best way to ensure the pup's survival? Leave it alone. Harbor seal mothers leave the pups alone to rest and stay warm while they forage nearby. Please remember to keep at least 50 yards away, as it is illegal to approach these animals. If you are concerned for the animal’s condition, you can contact the Oregon Marine Mammal Stranding Network at 541-270-6830, or visit aquarium.org/seal-pups for more information on the do’s and do not’s.”
