Storium is a role playing website. Basically. You sign up for an account and have the option of creating a game or just joining an existing game. Since I have paid membership, I will create the game (becoming the host and main narrator) because I can remove the player limit.
Once I set up a game, you fine folk submit characters based on the premise of the game (just write stuff and upload a pic or two). You also have like...attributes. Your nature, strengths and weaknesses, and 2 wild cards that can be either a strength or weakness during game play. You get to decide what these are.
What happens is, during the game, the narrator can set up challenges (e.g. Horny alien) and all the characters in play can choose to tackle this challenge with their cards (e.g. Eimear plays the "Love for all creatures" nature card, and "Always DTF"). You can play strengths or weaknesses. Strengths will lead to a good outcome (which the host will set beforehand when they set up the challenge) and the other way round. When we complete challenges, the narrator gets to tie up that scene and continue it, or move on.
There's a tutorial when you first sign up. I wouldn't be too worried.
