Oh joy, look what's coming
It's a new "named storm!" Met Éireann has named him (it's a boy this time, they seem to go girl-boy-girl-boy on the names...) Storm Bram.
(regarding this with interest) Kind of a connoted name, in this (literary) neck of the woods. If we're lucky we won't all be vampires tomorrow. 😏
Meanwhile, with wind like this, it's likely enough we'll lose power at some point. Guess it's time to put some tea in the vacuum jug...
"Wubbo"? On first sight, that's a wild one. :) (Though it seems possible that it's got something to do with Wubbo Ockels, the first Dutch citizen and scientist to go to space.)
(...For those interested in how these names are chosen: The UK Met Office cooperates in soliciting public nominations, and making name choices, with Met Éireann and KNMI, the Royal National Meteorological Institute of the Netherlands. Euronews has an info page on the subject.)
