Bunny borstal is coming along...

Unless cheeky madam Eira somehow got in with Merlin when I wasn't supervising, then she has kindled at 21 days!

There are only 3 babies but they seem properly formed and a good size even though they are in theory very premature. I guess time will tell.

I hadn't even had time to get a nesting box in but she did a great job. Fingers crossed for them...

The little Rex baby is getting fur and is the same colour as its Dad! 🐰

The local breeder had some more buns behaving badly that he has kindly given me. His doe got to a wild buck so they are pretty nuts and great escape artists even if they are also adorable!

They have settled well in the colony and I'm about to start constructing bunny borstal - a new secure grow out unit in the shippon 😆

Celt being Celt

Overcame a big mental hurdle today. I really wanted to attend a Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu seminar but none of my regular training partners could make it and I was scared about going alone. Doesn't sound a big deal but it's a very intimate close contact sport and I get nervous rolling with guys I don't know.

Then there was a late venue change and at this point my anxiety kicks in because directions weren't clear, parking wasn't at the venue and I'm starting to panic that I'll get lost, be late, the dogs will be left too long, I won't won't find a buddy, will make an idiot of myself blah blah.

A year ago I would have tapped out and baled...but pet sitter booked, left in good time, found the venue, made some new pals and had a really awesome training session. My buddy was an absolute gentleman and I was honoured to receive a promotion from the big man himself. My last stripe as a white belt.

There are so many cliches but it's 100% true: Sometimes the fight is not on the mat. It's in your head and showing up is the win.

Hazel has been nesting for days and finally she and Buck Roger's have had their first litter.

I can only see two so far so that might be it or she may be mid way through kindling so I'll check back in an hour.
