Updike had to get out of the storm. Luckily, he was near TGG. What he didn’t know was that this wasn’t his TGG, but a different one. He unlocked the door, locked it behind him, and stood there for a moment, taking a moment to breathe. Once he calmed down enough, he went up to his office. He was confused as to why his door was locked, but decided to just unlock it and walk in. @jolts-and-sparks
He's quite confused, and irritated. Was this someone from one of those "universes" he keeps hearing so much about?
The initial reports were ominous. Still Vannes and surrounding area had survived numerous storms pouring in from the ocean over the generations. This one was no different to the Kingdom of Breton’s hardy citizens. They would batten down the hatches so to speak and get through this storm too. The media reporting softened over the day as it looked like the eye of the storm would not make landfall. Instead it would slowly break up over the ocean.
Later it would be reported as the storm of the century, largely because the eye of the storm turned at the final hour and slammed into Vannes mercilessly. People, having heard the reports that the storm would not be so dire on land, were caught out and about, picking up the last of their supplies or merely finishing their workday. Caught unawares and faced with the brutal lashing of the terrible storm, people were obliged to seek refuge wherever they could and remain there for the night.
By mid-afternoon the following day, the storm had moved on and the buildings of the sturdy City of Vannes remained upright, for the most part. There were numerous injuries but not a single fatality in the City. It spoke well of the citizens of Vannes that they had taken care of one another during this terrible stormy night.
Alas, the repercussions of the storm remained ongoing. Damage to the sea wall caused flooding in many areas of Vannes, forcing families to leave their homes, businesses and schools to close, and havoc to the typically well-managed City. Fortunately the area around Vannes and in other parts of the Kingdom of Breton experienced little more than the usual damage, resulting in an increase in insurance claims but no significant turmoil.
This time Vannes was the hardest hit.
[OOC notes under the cut]
This is an event in two parts!
OOC - the first part of the event will start on noon Friday, March 14th and will run through the weekend until midnight, Monday, March 17th. In game time it will last one night of March 14th and the storm will have cleared by afternoon on the 15th.
We’re going to break up the lovely muses of Breton among eleven key locations where they ended up trapped with others. This grouping is done via randomizer with tweaks (ie so no two characters of the same mun are together). Feel free to develop delicious plottage within your groups. No fatalities please but let us know if you would plan for your muse to be injured and the degree of injury including length of hospital stay if any and any consequences for your muse (for example - if Jaewon was injured what would that mean for his competition season).
Plotting form for events is here. Please submit it to the main no later than 48 hours before the commencement of the event so the Admin have time to review and ask questions if needed.
If you do not plan to have your muse be involved in the event, please let us know and we will exclude them from the group breakdown. Please let us where they were for the duration of the event.
The storm is going rage through the City of Vannes and be quite scary for about 12-16 hours. Phone networks jam and then fail. The power will flicker and some locations may need to rely on generators or lose power entirely. Then it will fade out until it is just gloomy rain. The Bretoners will then get to go out and inspect the damage. Are their homes still standing? Will they need to go out to stay at their House Chateau while repairs are made? What about their friends, family and places of employment?
The second part is the clean up! These people are nobles, which means even the poorest of them is more privileged than the average citizen. How will these noble Houses assist Vannes in its recovery? More on this to be posted after the event but it is something to keep in mind as you plot out your muses’ stories for this event.
We really want you all to have fun with this one! If you have questions, please message the Main (either in ask form or by IM).
Venus stared at others as they went by her. There were other slaves and other species that were being rescued just like she was, she wondered if anyone else got hurt just like her. She looked down at her swollen ankle since that was her main concern, even though she should be somewhat concerned about the cuts on her face, arms, and hands along with the bruises on her neck, back, legs, and hands. The nymph stared at her ankle for some time before she decided to actually lean up off the wall and speak up. “Hey you,” she said gently. “are you busy?”
Well this was fucked up... Aiden had thought that the last storm that had hit the island had been bad, but it was a gentle drizzle compared to this shit. All he could think about were all of the poor fucking slaves who had lost their lives. Not that the island cared, and that just made the matter even worse. He and his Alistair were safe, back at the manor once again. He couldn’t sit still though, needing to be where he could be of use. The rescue scene was just as chaotic as anywhere else, and he made his way though, offering words of comfort and help where he could. Hearing a weak voice, he turned and saw Venus. “Fuck..you’re alive” he grumbled in relief, dropping to his knees by the girl. “What’s hurt, love?”
When the first shock hit, he made himself useful by helping slaves and anyone caught in the floods. But the aftermath of it all was more than he could handle. Frantic and unsure what to do, Niko went to make sure Qhuinn was still safe. He found her in her natural element, and when there was a clearing, he approached, face void of emotion as shock was starting to settle in.
“Let me help you with something,” he offered, “Cleaning up…making beds, I don’t care. Tell me what to do.”
The longer time went on, the more her panic over Arashi grew. She knew her son had to be around somewhere, she would have known it if he’d have...you know. So she just kept searching and sending out silent thoughts and prayers, hoping against hope that maybe he would pick up on something. Surely their bond was strong enough for that? Meanwhile she threw herself into her work, ignoring the sweat, or maybe even blood, that ran down the side of her face, and the ache in her leg.
“There..just keep pressure on the wound, and I’ll be back in a few minutes to see if the dressing needs changing” Qhuinn murmured, as her mate’s scent hit her nose. A bit of the thread that held her together began to unravel at his voice, as she turned and pressed herself into his bulk. “It’s all gone... Our home, the bakery.. Arashi! Have you seen Arashi?” she asked, her voice rising in panic again.
Margeaux had come to the beach to try and clear her head, gather some control of herself, when she spotted Abbi. There was a mix of hunger and concern and it was hard for her to tell which would win out right then.
She stepped closer to her, but didn’t touch her. “just breathe..” she said slowly. “Take a deep breath…relax..” she said slowly.
Abbi’s wide, almost wild eyes landed on a familiar face. Margeaux. The woman stepped forward but didn’t touch her, for which she was grateful. Abbi did take a shuddering breath, wrapping her arms around herself.
Something about the woman’s words seemed amusing to her though. if her powers were back and out of control..did that mean everyone else’s were too? “Are you talking to me..or yourself..”
Rain always made the perfect backdrop for relaxing with a good book. The vampire intended to at least finish his novel if the damn grant students would shut their mouths. The pansies were afraid of a little rain and the dark. This was why the man hated humans. When the lights went out, he groaned, placing his book down. It was the bang caught his attention. The cell doors were opening or should he say breaking open. It couldn’t be. It would be too good to be true. Still Edmund attempted to use his speed only to find himself standing in the middle of the school. His fangs popped out in excitement. “Much better.” He’d been waiting for this moment. “Time to have some fun.”
“Fun?” Jody raised an eyebrow, smirking, walking closer to Edmund, his hands behind his back. “Students pouring out of the cells in the middle of the night and you think this is something fun? To the school maybe...”
Jody gave a shrug. His eyes were black, entirely. Black faint smoke drifted from behind him. He tilted his head, looking like some curious bird.
“Which is hardly fun for the more tender hearted of people...”
The storm had put everyone on edge you didn’t need a crystal ball to tell you that, however, this was different something about it felt downright evil the chaos that was unleashed was like something that she had never seen before usually there was an order to the chaos and rules but what were the rules in this game. Dannie hid the small blade in the sleeve of her hoodie she had no idea where to even go for safety she was sure that whatever was going on would be sure to affect the supers and she wasn’t sure that she could trust James she had met his demon side once and that was not an experience she wanted to meet again and certainly not under these circumstances. and the cells weren’t a safe place either she pulled the small bag closer to her she decided that it would be better to take her chances out in the wild she had no idea where she had managed to end up as she had been wandering in the dark for a good twenty minutes she bumped into an object “Friend or Foe?” she asked her hand never leaving the small blade should she need it
Dhani looked over, feeling legs hit him. Well, he was doing good at hiding out in the dark and rain, even if he was just waiting for a better chance to run out into the chaos. He recognized her voice and reached up to grab her to pull her closer and down before seeing the blade in her hand. So instead he just held his hands up in surrender, still crouching, dark clothes, hood up.
“Twinnie, it’s me! Get down!” Dhani grabbed her after she got a good look at him knowing she wasn’t about to get grabbed. He held onto her arm, keeping her close.
“Where’d you get that knife? That’s a good idea, really... I bet there’s something in the lounge. Are you okay?”
