The last they spoke of training was New Years when Arielle requested the following day off. With good reason. A workout with a raging hangover doesn’t typically mix. He didn’t push the Belgium princess for another training session but did notice her presence at the gym whenever he was doing his actual assigned job as a security officer. While she was there a couple days back he finally spoke to her about resuming their sessions which is what brings them to this very moment. He toweled off his forehead, as he’s one to take part in the reps himself and said, “It was. You did awesome considering we haven’t trained together since before New Years.” He hung the towel over a muscular shoulder and shook his head. “Luka works another two hours, then we’ll go out to eat.” He then asked, “How about yourself?”

A sincere smile showed up on Arielle’s face as her friend spoke to her. “Thank you. I thought it was going to be harder after not training for some days, but I guess I’m still in shape” she said with a grin before taking another sip of her water. At Demi’s response and then asking about her, she sighed. “Not much. Shower and then relax...I was going to think on some recipes to create but I’ll need more research. So I think I’ll just chill after showering.”

It’s been quite a long time since Arielle worked out with that kind of intensity, but to be fair, she has been eating a lot more (she needed to taste her new recipes after all) and she honestly didn’t want to keep gaining weight. That was why a long time ago she settled a deal with Demi and get a strict work out agenda.  Once the work out between them was over, she smiled at her partner. “Today was good.” she said to her friend before taking a sip of her bottle of water. “By any chance...do you have any plans for later?” she asked with curiosity.

You know how I feel about it… You took so long, and the urge was bigger. ❜ She stood up, to embrace her childhood friend. ❛ Happy New Year! ❜ The blonde pulled away from the hug, picking up a glass, feeling a bit under the weather that day, listening to indistinct chattering in the background from the people coming and enjoying themselves. ❛ If you want somebody to wait for the drink, then you should ask for Lili. But not with food. She already is on the sweet table I think. ❜ Nikki mused, knowing well her little sister… She might be delighting herself with the foods.

“Remember a princess is never late, the rest is earlier” she teased as she hugged Nikki back. Looking around as she heard her friend speak, she spotted Lilli that in fact, was at the sweet table. “I’m glad she is enjoying some of my work.”she grinned before taking a sip.

𝐍𝐈𝐊𝐈𝐓𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐄, she was near to the table of drinks, and she already has chugged two glass in a row. But the blonde wasn’t drunk yet. She sat on a chair very unexcited with everything around her. In parts, she was counting until the fireworks so she can go to her room and sleep. Her gaze was lost elsewhere, and her mind was miles away from this party, that’s for sure. She noticed somebody was in front of her, snapping out to reality. ❛ Promised, I wasn’t staring! ❜ It was true, she said it awkwardly.

Arielle reached the party and rolled her eyes as she saw her friend already drinking. “I can’t believe you started without me!” the Belgian princess pouted. Of course she was teasing, they knew each other for quite a long time, maybe since diapers, so she wasn’t surprised Nikki started drinking first. Grabbing two cups, she handed one to her dear friend. “Happy New Year!”

Smiling at the other, he instantly inspected her hands to make sure she wasn’t burned. “Now I feel like I should be near you whenever you’re here.” He lightly taunted as his eyes went back up to hers.  Looking between her eyes, he shook his head lightly. “You constantly surprise me Arielle Aremberg.” The other took her position in the royal family seriously and even though he liked to believe they are close friends there are things he doesn’t know about her. Like her obvious interest in pastries. 

“Which ones are yours?” 

“I don’t get easily burned but...I wouldn’t mind if you’d check me from time to time. You’d get a good reward” she teased him.

“What can I say? I like to surprise people” she joked. Hunter knew her like the palm of his hand and even that, she managed to surprise him with that revelation.

“All of them. I’m in charge of the pastries here.” she grinned.

Isak sipped his coffee as he assessed the kitchen and the freshly baked cinnamon rolls. It smelled heavenly and he could feel his will power shrink by the second. “Baklava is a good choice. If we had Greeks on the island they’d flock to it,” he surmised. At least he didn’t think there were any Greeks there recently. Isak was really keeping good tabs on things with the Red Room taking most of his attention. A smile brimmed on his lips at the special treatment she mentioned. He could hardly turn it down; besides, he wouldn’t want to insult her. “I’d love that – but a small batch of pumpkin muffins or I’ll eat too many,” he replied with a wink. “So what have you been up to besides all this working? You’ve been kicking back some, haven’t you? I still haven’t seen you at the Red Room yet. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day using your hands. Let someone else use theirs for you,” he suggested.

“Baklava is always a good choice. Not only for Greeks” she said cheerfully. She could already feel the smell of the apple filling, the cinnamon touch to it, the roasted almonds, all invading the kitchen. When he mentioned only a small batch, she sighed and then nodded. “A small batch means a dozen. But I can make more and sell the rest.” she said to him with another smile.  “Besides this? I’ve been working out with Demi, he is a hell of an instructor. The Red Room is not a place for me...at least not for now...I don’t have anyone to help me with that kind of relaxing time...”she sighed, but it could be fun if she’d find someone to not let her use her hands for a while. She could even get used to it. “Things were easier back in Belgium”

Laughing at Arielle’s comment, Hunter nodded his head. “I would still heal you off the clock.” Which he would do for anyone; Hunter isn’t the kind of person to turn his back on those who need him. Friend or foe. “If you ever do need me, I’m just a phone call away now.” Which was slightly odd considering they were both in their respective countries. It wasn’t as if Australia and Belgium were a drive away.  

“You bake? How did I not know this about you?” He asked, slightly disappointed that he didn’t know that his friend could bake. “It must be nice though. Getting to smell pastries all day.”

“Well that’s good to know, I mean being in the kitchen can lead to get burn often” she said smiling, having that sense of familiarity every time she spoke with him. Their countries were far away yet, she felt they were pretty close. “I know.” she grinned.

“I do. Because I like to keep my secrets” she said teasing. “I love it. I love how methodical and organized pastry can be yet you can be creative with tastes so there’s always a new world of food to try”

Leo’s smile widened when Arielle recognized him. After all, it’s been a while since the two royals saw one another. Moving to meet her for the hug, Leo tightly wrapped his arms around her. “A few months. I think.” He answered as he pulled away from the hug but remained close to her. “When did you get here? Are you okay?” The Italian has said it multiple times. He loves Italy, but now the majority of his family is here and the majority of his friends as well; he couldn’t but to enjoy this island more and more. 

It was nice to see her friends arriving there, it made her feel like home even if it wasn’t. So he was there a few months and their paths just crossed? That was just insane. But Arielle rarely left the kitchen, so that was totally possible. As he pulled away from the hug, Arielle looked at her friend and smiled. “A few months ago too. And yes I am. Happy to be baking, makes me get relaxed” the Belgian said.  “So where are you staying?” she asked with curiosity.
