#storm update

Hurricane Dorian is gonna be big here in Florida, and tropical storm force winds should be here by tonight or overnight. My power could go out at anytime. I'm staying in my home here on the central east coast of Florida during the storm. I'm just barely out of the evacuation zones (seriously, theyre just 1 mile away), so my bf and I are monitoring the storm very closely.

When the storm hits and knocks out power, I'll update my safety once or twice a day to conserve battery power both here and on Facebook if I can access those things, otherwise I'll update only my parents until the worst passes.

I have multiple backup plans in place if things turn dangerous, plenty of supplies, calming items and treats for my furbabies and lots of water.

I'm up to my eyeballs in anxiety so I'm not going to be around much until the storm passes.

A swing and a miss!

The worst of hurricane Irma barley missed us, we sat in the eye for a while, and got some nasty winds, but we had no damages, and our power has come back on. Some trees lost limbs, and one was pulled down today because it was really weak. It was really freaky, and a little scary, but it’s over now at least for us.

I want to thank Cuba though, and the brave residence who live there. If Irma hadn’t hit Cuba first, Florida would have been hit with a Cat 5 at full power. So thank you, so much, you saved my house, my belongings, and my family.

Another Harvey Update

We're under a tornado warning for the next half hour; will update when it's passed or extended.

We still have power and water.

The boyfriend came over for a bit (practically swam here) which was lovely. He lives a few blocks away but it feel like he's on the other side of the world.

The Addicks and Barker Reservoirs are close to overflowing/close to having their dams break. They'll be diverting water from them to Buffalo Bayou, which is a about a mile from my apartment, at a rate of 4,000 cubic square feet per second. That water will likely divert our way and increase flooding but it's necessary unless they want the entire contents of the reservoirs to spill out.

My workplace is under the mistaken notion that we should attempt to come in tomorrow. HAHAHA. No.

Hurricane prep.

Welp, I’m done preping for today, I smell like week old bath water, and a sweaty hog, but the house is boarded. I’m packed in case we gotta go in a hurry, I checked, and rechecked, our supplies list, and I made sure all my peeps were safe. So I think I’m gonna crawl in bed and play Zelda until I fall asleep.

Storm update

The models have come out, and from what it looks like, it’s going to hit me hard... Like hundred MPH winds, It is going to be really, really, bad... I’m not sure I will be on. We are going to E-vac soon, like maybe tomorrow. I may loose everything, so I hope to keep you posted, but I don’t know if I will be able to.

Storm update; Rain is here, but it's not to bad. The wind speeds have dropped again and my dad is certain we won't even lose power. Fingers crossed he's right lol
