Well. I didn't do a weekly round up last week because I was a) in the middle of Storm Arwen and lost power, and b) because I was desperately trying to catch up on NaNo which I did in fact win! Last week I wrote a total of 10066 and in November I wrote 50114!!! Well here’s a little good news (for a change) the water is back on - hurrah - and the tree is being removed from the lane - huzzah!! Still no sign of power, estimate remains by tomorrow 10pm!! The pictures are of me - the night of the storm - signing books (posted out today) by candle light! Oh yes - Andrew wouldn’t let a little think like no power stop me from working!! Heaven knows what my writing looks like! The other is of our dog Bodkin (I know people have been worried) warming herself on the sofa in front of the fire! So - we’ve had to make some changes to our up and coming programme of events! We are still without power - no heating, no cooker, no lights, no running water (as it’s fed to us by an electric pump)! I have decamped to a near by hotel to try and catch up on work - Andrew and Bod (the dog) were going to stay too but as the room is three flights up and the dog has to be carried up stairs because of her arthritis that’s out of the question so he’s headed back home with the beast to the cold house! We plan to go ahead with this Saturdays workshop (all being well) but have decided to cancel next Tuesdays lecture in order to give us some breathing space - time wise. Power grid say the power will be on tomorrow - but then again they said this yesterday … and the day before that … and the day before that! We are fine and the house has escaped without any damage but we have no heating, electricity and no water and one end of the lane is blocked by fallen trees. Thank the gods for the open fire in the living room and my copious collection of candles!
