What is your favorite scene from flesh and bone?Or if that's too hard, top 5 scenes?

I can do my top five, and I can even try to put them in order! I will try to remain vauge for spoilers sake.

5. Stormfur's showdown with Blackclaw in ch.3. I got heated writing that! When Blackclaw jumps from off the rock and approaches Stormfur, accusing him of disloyalty in front of RiverClan, in front of Hawkfrost-- ooh! It's a good thing I needed Blackclaw alive for later chapters, or else I might've let Stormfur just kill him right there, lol. His jabs (“You know why his father was exiled from RiverClan, don’t you, Hawkfrost?”) and (“That’s why Stormfur is so afraid to take Sunningrocks back. He’s got his father’s traitorous heart. He knows that when the time comes to choose, he’s going to choose ThunderClan .”) still get me all worked up! Especially because Blackclaw was right. At that point, ThunderClan/Graystripe still tugged so strongly at Stormfur's heartstrings that he was one really bad day away from defecting to ThunderClan.

4. The "jump Stormfur's bones" conversation in ch.4, loll. I've never laughed so hard while writing a scene before, and re-reading it always makes me smile! It was also very helpful to me; it's the first scene I wrote where I felt I nailed the quest cats in a group scene, and it helped me to navigate them in group scenes moving forward! Their distinct voices/roles all shine pretty clearly in that one so it became a great reference point. As well, it ended up becoming the running joke that never got old.

3. Stormfur's confession to Hawkfrost in ch.7. Even now, the desperation Stormfur feels as he begs Hawkfrost to just shut up and listen hits hard. I was listening to Evermore (Taylor Swift) on repeat while I was writing that scene, and the lyric 'I rewind the tape but all it does is pause on the very moment all was lost' sums up this moment for Stormfur; likewise the lyric 'In the cracks of light I dreamed of you, It was real enough to get me through' sat heavily with me, to the point where I reference that lyric in this conversation.

2. Stormfur and Hazelpaw's last conversation in the epilogue. Originally, that scene was intended to end the entire fic, except in flashback form (Stormfur would gaze into the river and feel transported in time, and the memory would play out). I like it better as a conversation, though, because it demonstrates Stormfur putting his hard-earned wisdom to good use, rather than just serving as a potent memory. So much of the fic felt like it was building up to this one story, from lines about divinity in ch.1 to the title itself! Overall, it just feels very full-circle for Stormfur as a character and wraps up his arc nicely, and I like the cords of bittersweetness and sentimentality it strikes.

1. Stormpaw and Hawkpaw at Bonehill. Hawkpaw had been begging Stormpaw to really see him throughout his entire apprenticeship, but this is the moment that Stormpaw finally does. And Hawkpaw's line ("You judged Mothpaw and me the same way that everyone has always judged you and Featherpaw. How does that make you any different than them?”) recontextualizes the entire way Stormpaw views Hawkpaw and Mothpaw, and even how he views his own Clanmates. It gives Stormpaw the ability to move forward and strike up meaningful relationships not just with Hawkpaw and Mothpaw, but with Leopardstar, too! And the theatrics of it all -- not to pat myself on the shoulder, but I really feel like it delivers! The scene that follows it is good fun too, lol.
