You know what makes the publicity-stunt shock-death of Kamala Khan in the pages of Amazing Spider-Ma (2022) #26 even harsher in hindisight? It’s that Kamala’s solo titles, in particular Saladin Ahmed’s run on Magnificent Ms. Marvel actually did a great job exploring themes about Kamala struggling with near-death experiences in both her superhero and personal life, as well as coming to terms with her own mortality!
magnificent ms marvel issues #6-12 had no business hitting so close to home. stormranger might’ve been the most well written story arc EVER written for Kamala and NO I am NOT biased
So I don't think they are likely to follow up on this plot thread any time soon but. . . Were they like implying that Kamala is the genetic duplicate of an ancient Kree advance scout? Or like her reincarnation? Because Ahmed's run definitely was heading in a progressively more magic-ish direction with the death arcs and the introduction of Amulet as Kamala's superhero buddy.
It kind of sucks that the Stormranger mini series got cancelled cause all we have of it are like two covers and like
Crazy robot Kamala hanging out with Gamora is an instant buy in for me.
But for now this is probably going to be something that might get picked up a decade or more from now in a somewhat same but different way as whatever Ahmed was going to do with it.
Like how Kelly Sue originally wanted to retcon Carol's backstory to make it so she was always the source of her own powers rather than Mar-vell, but couldn't. And then it wasn't until over a decade later that a new Captain Marvel writer picked that up and retconned Carol as half Kree so her powers were always her own.
Was fighting art block for a while and drew these using bases I found on Pinterest to try and beat it.
Marvel! You have a sentient virus and a robotic doppelganger, both with who hate and know they identity of Ms Marvel, and you haven't fused them into a single character yet?! Why?

Locked in a creative trance, the boy genius narrowed his eyes as he concentrated on the holographic monitor. Making his final adjustments on the programming, he rolled back from his seat and grinned, “And that’s it! Now onto the test phases for the suit’s nano-induction sequence!”
He looked behind him towards Karmi’s lab, frowning to see it was still empty and that his fellow prodigy hadn’t returned yet. He pursed his lips in contemplation. Eagerly, he grinned, “I... I can’t wait! I’ll just have to start the tests.”
He looked towards his monitor, “This is Hiro Hamada. This is test number one of the Stormranger Nano-Induction Sequence.”
Just as the robotics prodigy had hoped, strips of vibranium-composite nanomachines formed around his body and created a well-fitted... dress around him. He blushed, “M-Maybe I really should’ve just had Karmi try it on...”
“Nice dress, Hiro.”
The boy genius squeaked in a higher octave than he would’ve wanted, blushing embarrassedly towards Karmi who had just entered the lab. “K-Karmi! I was actually hoping you were here earlier so you could test it on yourself!”
Karmi couldn’t help but giggle catching him in the act, “No, no, it looks like you’re handling that.” She was still very honored that he was dedicating himself to create an armor for her alter-ego.
Hiro’s face flushed as he looked down at the Stormranger nanosuit that seemed to move very well and responsively to his body. “Yeah, well now I’m wishing you didn’t walk in... Can you... umm... look away?”
Karmi chuckled, “Sorry, Professor Granville told me quite strictly that I am to observe you when you are conducting your testing!” The boy could only grumble at her, quickly running to shut down the video testing feed.
Here’s a sneak peak of a Big Heroine Uno scene aha. Well, never have I ever thought I’d write or draw Hiro in a dress but well, it’s for a good and just cause lol. Ms. Marvel’s Stormranger suit had to make its way to the Uno Reverse AU, it’s just too cool and frankly, Karmi is going to need it... We’ll get to see how she looks in it, of course!
