Some fun pictures of a supercell my mother and I chased today that had a tornado touch down. We were actually really close to the circulation and a guy yelled at us “Hey!! That’s a tornado!!” all panicked and we just said “Yeah we know”/”Yep” djkdsf it was a lot of fun. Obviously don’t go running around outside if you don’t know things about tornado watching like how to track storms and move away and when to jump ship and whatnot & but it was worth the trip today. Really love the view of the supercell from up top a hill overseeing everything. You can clearly make out the RFD and everything, the whole storm structure and all that. The only reason we caught it was because my mom made impromptu plans to go to a pumpkin farm today to pick pumpkins and while we were on the highway going up to Marana I saw the shelf cloud and kept prodding like “...Doesn’t that look like a shelf cloud”/”You can literally see the rear flank downdraft”/”Aren’t those subvortices forming”/”Isn’t that literally a funnel cloud reaching down-” until we pulled off the road to properly spot lol. Still have yet to see one touch down up close :S Maybe some other day
