This is silly.

This is too much for a too-simple gesture and Troy knows he’s probably going to make a fool of himself because of it. But, he’s already standing outside the door of Z-3 with a modest platter of strawberries and pretzels, and he’d look even more of a fool turning back now.

... This is still ridiculous.

His knocks on the door are rhythmic, though meek. “You in there? I just wanted to say hi.”
