7. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

probably jasnah/shallan. for some reason when i first read the books i completely missed the age gap. i thought jasnah was ~22 and shallan was about 19. but now i look at their actual age gap and i'm like 😬😬. i don't think it's wrong to read shallan as having a crush on jasnah, it's pretty common for teenagers or young adults to crush on people significantly older than them, but i'm highly uncomfortable with people actually shipping them as in supporting the concept of an actual relationship btwn them. also some parts of the adolin/kaladin ship. like some of their dynamic still makes my brain fritz, but i think by and large, fandom's portrayal of it erases the very real racial dynamics present within their relationship. i also think this is a result of the inconsistency of the way they were written. certain scenes are very funny and cute, but others are incredibly fraught with racism, and the book jumps from one to another with no actual acknowledgement of the previous racism. so with certain scenes i can get behind the ship, but with others it's just upsetting. the good parts can read as romantic, but there's also lots of ugly stuff there.

11. Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

i would say rysn. i don't know if she's actually unpopular or anything but i don't see much content for her, and i actually really like her PoVs. i think her perspective and the way she makes observations about the world and the people around her are incredibly fascinating! it's the same reason i like rock's perspective so much!

Controversial opinion: This one is almost bordering on the edge of a personal attack but.... in depth tagging systems aren't worth it (for me personally, but it's less fun when you put it like that so i'll just treat it as a universal statement to cause fights)

i mean obvs i disagree for me, but like also agree in some sense of like. you have complete control over the extent and intensity of your engagement on social media. you don't need to answer every ask or log on regularly or even be super formal in your post wording or w/e you can just fuck around on here casually like there is 0 reason to worry or care about the "quality" of your blog. so i agree in the sense that you shouldn't tag because you feel you have to. for me though, it's kind of a fun stress-free pet project? like making fancy tagging systems and shit just makes me happy. it’s easy busy work that satisfies me when my brain is a little slow but i feel the urge to be productive or at least feel productive :) but i def agree that like unless the actual act of tagging makes you happy you shouldn't give a fuck!!!
