Stormtrooper redesign from @jackdaw-kraai 's Guides Verse. I only meant to simplify his design enough to animate, but I tripped and fell deep into a armor design hole and ended up making my own design?

Anyways, expect a new animatic/animation sometime this week or next week. Like the design, it too spiraled out of control and now I have a lot of frames to clean up

Below the logo and textures are three full body drawings: one is the original stormtrooper, another is jackdaw’s design, and the last one is mine. Mine looks like a mix between the original storm trooper armor and jackdaw’s, but there’s also influences from other types of armor, like Russia’s newest exoskeleton armor and generic sci fi armor. 

To the right of the three designs are drawings of my helmet design. One drawing is a side view of it. The design is a cross between the original stormtrooper helmet and a motorcycle helmet. Another drawing is a labeled auditory sensor. It has a pained imperial cog on it. Finally there is a cross section drawing of a person wearing the helmet. 

Below the helmet drawings are sketches of the left and right arm protectors from different angles. The left has scanner results and a small storage pocket and the right has a shield generator and power source. 

At the very bottom of the image are 6 action poses for my armor design. The 1st is a person making a knee strike. The 2nd is a weird jumping pose where the person is making a finger gun. The 3rd is a hard yoga pose (I couldn’t find the exact name of this pose). The 4th is an army crawl. The 5th is another jumping pose, but the left arm is against the ground. The 6th is a straight punch. ]

To everyone who asked me what my vision for the SUTA armor was, this is mostly what I had in mind. Solid plates secured flush to actual underarmor so that on the whole the trooper looks a lot less... clunky. My art skills on paper and in this style aren’t good enough to properly convey the fact that this is, functionally speaking, one-quarter ton heavy power armor, but hey! Beggars can’t be choosers.

Armor isn’t my strong suit (ha) but I thought I’d take a swing at @jackdaw-kraai ‘s reimagining of the stormtrooper armor. LOVED the idea of including elements from Vader’s mask, and, since the re-design had the Vod’e in mind, I thought I’d try to include some Mandalorian elements as well. Super happy with how it turned out! 💕

And in a bizarre plot twist, I did a watercolor painting where the colors actually turned out as vivid as I wanted!

Maybe because I painted on cardboard and not paper or poster board? I don't know.

I wanted to try painting with a reference and I had a star wars calendar lying around, so Luke in stormtrooper armor it is.
