Goodbye old friend

Finally, we’ve transferred all 3,987,000 users of the old platfrom to MyAlbum - Visual Storytelling

MijnAlbum.nl was launched back in 2004 and was a successful photo sharing site in the Netherlands. However it was outdated an following a management buyout by the MyAlbum team we’ve drastically changed the course of the company. Instantly preparing the migration of all it’s users (including the dozens of international sisters in 17 languages) to a new concept aimed at storytelling. This became MyAlbum

After designing, building and testing the new platform during the Beta release we tried to guide these nearly 4 million users into this completely new platform. This has been quite a challenge. In order to keep as many of these users as possible we offered 24/7 chat support and nearly instant response to all incoming mail. This has helped us improve and gain a great insights on how people use the site and what they run into. But it has also strained our small 14 member team. You can imagine completing this phase has been a relief to all of us. Here is an album showing the moment of the truth, taking our 12 year old 'baby' down.From this point forward all focus will be on new Features, Growth and Partnerships and making this new platform fly!

Graeme's Day in the life
