Macy's is bringing Market by Macy’s to South Point Retail McDonough in the old Toy’s R Us building. Market by Macy’s is a new concept that Macy's is rolling out . Macy's opened their first Market by Macy's in the affluent neighborhood of Southlake, Texas and followed it up by opening another in a high end Fort Worth shopping center. Macy's has found that their online sales are much greater in locations that are in proximity to existing stores. They have also found that by offering in store returns for products purchased online, they can save on shipping and possibly have more sell-thru on other products. In order to entice the customers to return products in store, they will be offering additional discounts and gift cards, something the online leader Amazon cannot offer because they do not have brick and mortar stores. Macy's is a powerhouse in retail and the fact that they chose South Point in McDonough to open their first Georgia location when they could have picked Johns Creek, Roswell, Cumming, Duluth, Sandy Springs, or numerous other suburbs is telling. South Point Retail on Market by Macy’s coming to McDonough: We believe they will be very successful at South Point and hope to see the McDonough market be the catalyst for further retail activity in the metro area for Macy's. The Southside is finally getting the credit from retailers that it has deserved for a long time.
