THE LIFE OF PABLO IS PURE GENIUS! Here's my theory: The Life of Pablo is a stroke of genius. The underlying theme of TLOP is Kanye; his career, his character, his life. Idk what the first title was but waves could be referencing the sporadic changes Ye made to the marketing and release of the album. Both the title and the cover for The Life of Pablo is Kanye pulling a Marilyn Manson move. Kanye is using a respected artist; the good, (Pablo Picasso) and the respected and famous drug lord; evil, (Pablo escobar). On the cover he is showing a positive image which is the family in formal wear at a wedding, the evil/blasphemous/negative image is portrayed by an image representing society's obsessive perversion. On the album we are witnessing both the old Kanye which is seen in positive light (good) and we are witnessing his transition to the new Kanye which is seen in a negative light (evil). Kanye is doing this by giving us ultra light beam and other tracks that are stylistically resembling the old Kanye. ____________________________ Background story of how I came to this revelation: Initially I was very outspoken about my disinterest in both Kanye as an artist and as a person. I never saw the appeal or where the hype came from when I looked at his catalogue of music. Admittedly it took me forever and a major effort to get into Kanye's music. However once he finally started growing on me I began even enjoying Yeezus...yeah wtf right? LOL. Anyway once Life of Pablo dropped (this was around the time I didn't like Ye's music) I immediately trashed on the project passing it off as nothing more thab a surface level album that serves as proof that mediocrity can birth both a financial and social media trending success. However literally on the night of the first day of 2017...it finally clicked. I was watching Dead End Hip Hop's review of the album and something Myke C-Town said about the album sparked a spiralling tree of thoughts that branched into microcosms of deeper artistic ideas and analysis that seemingly connected perfectly and just made sense. #KanyeWest #Music #TheLifeofPablo #StPablo #SaintPablo
