It wasn't like Beat to panic. Okay...it was definitely like Beat to panic about something like this. He'd lost his partner, after all. There wasn't much salvaging the situation when that happened.

Getting to know all the people in Moogletown came easy to Tomaj: give a simple greeting, get all the info you need, and get out. A streetears duty. He gave the other a smile, holding out his hand, "Name's Tomaj. Good to meet you."

Pudding left on his lips and his jacket wrinkled and off to the side some, Jack quickly navigated through the halls towards the entrance gate. It would be his first time going somewhere with Ace that wasn't a mission. He was excited to show him the small shop he had in mind. The blonde was certain the older boy would love the chocobo themed shop filled with all kinds of things. He was out of breath by the time he reached the gate, his back leaning against the wall and blue eyes closing. 

It was nearly a half an hour when Jack put his hands on his hips and frowned. It wasn't like Ace to be late, at all. Perhaps a few minutes if he got caught up in studying or something in class but a half an hour? Pushing himself off the wall, the blonde made his way back into the school. He stopped a few students and asked if they had seen the boy. There was no luck. He started to worry.

After searching every corner of the school, it was already night time and still no Ace in sight. When he was on his way to the only place he hadn't looked yet, the boys room, he over heard a few students talking. Apparently, Ace's body had been found and was going to be transported to the infirmary when he arrived back at the school. Learning that it would still be a couple hours before he returned, Jack decided to run an errand in the time being. 

When he returned, he headed straight to the hospital wing, Questioning a few nurses on the way, he made sure Ace was actually in there. Jack opened the doors and looked around. His eyes first landed on Cinque who was laying in a bed across the room. Had the two of them been on a mission together? But Ace hadn't mentioned it was a mission..His first instinct was to go see if she was okay, but her closed eyes and a nurse by her beside made him stay back. 

His eyes scanned around more until he found who he was looking for- Ace. Jack ran over to the bed, ignoring the yell for running. "Ace.." His hand gripped at the curtain that separated his bed from the others, his mind not sure how to react to what he was seeing.

King shook his head, understanding where Ace was going from the beginning.  "Don't worry about it, Ace.  It's been a harsh few days for you."  He gave the smallest of smiles.  "Thank you, though.  It's good to see you back on your feet."
