It wasn’t like Beat to panic. Okay…it was definitely like Beat to panic about something like this. He’d lost his partner, after all. There wasn’t much salvaging the situation when that happened.
when he came across another he practically run up to him in a rush
“Tell me where dey took Rhyme!”
The sudden onrush took Ace completely by surprise, pale blues widening as he instinctively feinted back a step and to the left, dodging the other boy’s charge, deft fingers reaching into the pouch where he kept his cards. ”…What are you even talking about?” he countered, easily regaining his composure as he slid a few cards out and fell into a defensive stance. He had no real desire to find this weird kid— it would be a waste of his time— but if he was going to charge him again, this time Ace was prepared. ”Who’s Rhyme?” If this kid was going to make demands of him, he would return them tenfold.
He stopped. Now a bit out of breath from all the running around he'd been doing. Why was trying to find someone so difficult all of a sudden anyway?
"Rhyme uh...she my partner, yo. Wearin' a skull cap kinda like mine."
It took him a few more moments to realize that he'd been acting completely irrationally, at which point he sighed.
"Man, sorry, yo. I's panicking like a li'l chicken."
