it was odd. although stranger things was officially over, everyone was at gaten apartment in new york. somehow, everyone was in new york at the same time for a different reason. interviews for new movie, filming, modeling, etc. everyone had a different reason why they were there but they were all there sort of, together.
gaten, knowing this and missing his old castmates, insisted they have an “ reunion” at his apartment. everyone all agreed as they had finished up right before the afternoon turns into dusk. everyone besides you. you were finishing up a solo interview for the new movie you were just in. you hated solo interviews nowadays. they felt so weird and odd without having someone to laugh with. but work was work so you had to do the interview.
you wanted to cancel so bad but finn had convinced you to go . “ you’ll come by later. we won’t do anything fun without you.” he smiled kissing your forehead, as you were tucked under his arm being sort of dramatic butyou obliged. you were kind of upset though. you missed your onscreen family even if you had other duties you needed to attend. it wasn't like you werent going to gaten's at all, you would just be thirty minutes late. but still.
so there they were, finn sitting on the floor leaning on the end he of the couch with his knees tucked. millie and sadie were cuddled up on one part of the couch, noah and charlie were in the kitchen looking for snacks, natalie, joe, caleb, maya and gaten were all sitting on the couch scrolling on netflix.
they wanted to watch a movie, something new, something fresh. " why would netflix take all the good movies off." gaten clicks the arrow, sighing while throwing his head back. " hey look it's us!" he smiled looking at their show on netflix. this earned a laugh from everyone.
sadie suddenly perks up. " oh my god! i have just the movie to watch. gimme gimme" she snatches the remote from gaten who scoffed in reply. sadie quickly went to the search bar, searching up the movie she knew would be perfect.
the movie slowly came into view. finn noticed immediately, throwing his head back, " fuck off sadie." his hand covered his face. sadie and the rest just laughed at his reaction. " wow a love movie?! and staring tom blythe and-" caleb pretend to be in shock, his eyes looking at the tv and finn.
" and y/n l/n! press it sadie this is going to be great!" caleb puts his hands on finn's shoulder shaking them as everyone besides finn laughs. " stop being an asshole caleb" sadie laughs half joking as she presses it.
" woohoo!" a cheer comes from joe who earns a side eye from finn. joe puts his hands up in surrender. " wait you guys didn't watch it when it came out?" noah suddenly asks
the entire group shakes their head. see, you invited them to the premiere but everyone was so busy including finn that they couldn't make it. noah's eyes widen. " im surprised finn didnt watch it" maya laughs
" loverboy would not want to his girl starring in a romcom with someone who isnt him!" millie states as everyone agrees laughing. finn just smiles, his head looking down.
the netflix intro sound is heard as everyone quites down, their eyes glued to the screen. soon, your character, poppy, is on the screen as a silent voice whisper screams. " thats y/n!" natalie says, smiling pointing to the screen as if everyone couldn't see her
" she is adorable i cannot" noah praises you as she looks at your character on the scene, dancing to a song in the car. " and he is so sexy." sadie adds on, making everyone laugh. the movie and their attention continued after that.
on the other side of the door, you were walking up the stairs to gaten's apartment. luckily, you still had your finn's old keys. gaten had told you finn to keep them just in emergencies.
you had changed after you left the interview into something way more comfortable, sweats, a tank top, and a zip up sweater. your hair was a little messy but you had just tuck in it behind your ears.
you had finally gotten to gaten's apartment, twisting the key into the lock. you heard a familiar song when you entered, your face twisted. " what the hell are they watching?" you whispered to yourself confused as you put your bag down. " guys?" you some what yelled, walking to the sound of the music.
your eyes suddenly goes to the tv screen, to find yourself on the tv dancing. your eyes widen, slapping a hand on your mouth, hiding your face. your character's outfit was crazy, flare jeans, a tube top, and a blue wig.
" i hate you guys! this is embarrassing!" you cringed. everyone was looking at you laughing. sadie got up making her way to you dancing the way your character did as you giggled. " im forever your girl" she sang the song to you which made you laugh.
everyone was laughing at your reaction. " you got moves- when were you gonna tell us?" joe laughs looking at you who walked over to finn on the floor. " yeah never" you shrugged sitting on the floor next to finn. " loverboy was getting jelllyyy" caleb strung his words out, earning a shove from finn.
" no yeah-you should have saw him y/n. his face was getting all red and shit." gaten talked with his hands as finn quickly denied. " dont listen to them- they are crazy. we know this!" finn shakes his head, being very defensive.
you just laugh, cuddling more into him tapping his cheek, " its all good" you smile up at him. finn looks at you smiling, tucking you more into him. " god you are so lucky- you get to kiss him." sadie words brings everyones attention to the screen of poppy and alex.
you all laugh. " well i hope you guys enjoy" you turn your head to everyone smiling ear to ear. noah awes while everyone smiles at you. " you're going to be trending in a bit" finn jokes.
you shrug while everyone laughs. you loved times like these, now especially. you all turned your attention to the movie, and you were basically just watching yourself on screen. finn kissed your forehead before his attention was on the movie.
