60 million views for Laura’s Amores Extraños!

29 years ago Laura returned to San Remo with Strani Amori and released her second album in Italian “Laura”. 

The second album would include the hit ballad mentioned above but also what was about to come one of her biggest international success stories : Gente. In addition Laura also sang on this album about girls (#laschicas) and friendship (Un Amico É cosí).

The team behind the album was familiar names from the debut released on the previous year. Significant was the beginning of the collaboration with Cheope, one of the most gifted and famous songwriters in Italy. Together they would write the most famous and biggest hits of Italian music history during the years to come. 

At this point Laura didn't write her own songs and she was regurarly reminded of it by the music reviews who still considered her as fading teenage star. However, it was this album that can be considered to have really launched Laura's international career (in  top10 also!) and which later progressed to the Spanish debut at the end of the same year. 

Musically this is perhaps one of the finest and best LP albums to date and personally the one that kicked of my life as an LP fan! These songs have been tattooed in my soul!

Amores Extraños became the 5th official videoclip of Laura to break 50 million views on Youtube! It’s amazing how people come back to this song 26 years after its release!

LP specials we want sequels for!

There are things which Laura has done during her career which we fans would love to have some more.. obviously albums, tours, concerts etc. But I’ve gathered here a list of special projects I enjoyed so much would like to have a sequel. Do you agree with me?

IO CANTO 2 

I’ve been wanting this for such a long time! For me Io Canto was new LP music but with a twist since this was the music I hadn’t heard before and she hadn’t written these herself - so it sounded so raw, fresh and different. She said in 2006 she’d would obviously have material for 10 albums like this but I don’t know if she’ll ever do a second one. But what about a female (Io Canto included only songs from male Italian artists) or international version?

Laura’s album of Italian covers was released in 2006.

Not many know but this man cannot only write and perform hits but he can also photograph. He captured Laura in 2006 in the most beautiful and feminine way we’d ever seen her before, don’t you think! We want more!

BOOKS

We are used to listen and seeing her but what about reading? In 2007 she released a collection of her diary notes Fai Quello Che Sei from the time of San Siro concert. In 2018 she released a book about making her album Fatti Sentire / Hazte Sentir. I love this book projects and definitely hungry for more!

LAURA & PAOLA 2

The best friends entertained Italy (and some foreign fans) in April 2016 for three marvellous Friday nights. The show was simply divine with music, singing, humour, performances from both of these two ladies + all the amazing guests! Laura is definitely a TV personality and together with Paola they make such an entertaining pair!

RISTO MEJIDE INTERVIEW

The Spanish music producer interviewed latin stars in 2014 and again in 2018. Laura was one of them invites and the result was in both times one of the deepest interviews Laura has ever given. What did you think of them?

SAN REMO 3

Laura competed in San Remo twice in 1993 and 1994 in two different categories and has returned to the show several times as a special guest. Many Italian artists compete several times during their careers and I always wonder if Laura returned.... 

Laura competed in the Big category in 1994 with Strani Amori becoming third.

DOCUMENTARY 

For her 20th anniversary Laura released My Story documentary along with her Greatest Hits album. The two hour documentary included her whole story from childhood to 2013. I’d definitely wanna see more behind the scene footage with interviews even for a certain period of time or for a project. Like a day with Laura for Live in Paris ‘05.

Strani Amori / Amores Extraños her gigantic hit from mid 90′s has fallen often into the medleys (except 2009 and 2014) during the tours but this time it looks like it will be sung entirely from the beginning ‘till the end.
