Die Anzahl der Einwohner ist fallend. 2001 lebten noch etwas mehr als 2.352 Menschen in der Kommune, am 30. Juni 2014 nur noch 1974.

Straumen gård, Straumsbukta - this is a beautiful old farm close to where I grew up. I had to take some pictures  Been visiting my parents in Tromsø, a city located in the north of Norway. "In the 1960s, the farming operations were closed down and the farm was sold to Troms Folk Museum. With the help of government subsidies and great amounts of voluntary work by local residents, the beautiful farm facility was restored and put into use as a local museum."
