Enjoy the sweet and sour tastes of fresh strawberries and balsamic vinegar in this smooth home-made ice cream. It's the perfect treat for a cool day!
Ingredients: 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped. 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 cups heavy cream. 1 cup whole milk. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Pinch of salt.
Instructions: Put the chopped strawberries and balsamic vinegar in a small bowl. For about thirty minutes, let them soak. Blend or process the strawberries until they are smooth in a blender or food processor. To make the sauce, put the heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl and whisk them together until the sugar is gone. Mix in the strawberry-balsamic puree until it's well mixed in. Put the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn it according to the machine's instructions until it's the consistency of soft serve. Move the ice cream that has been churned to a container that can go in the freezer. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until it is firm. Serve and have fun!
