Sunderland trip was v successful! My jewellery is now officially going to be sold in a vintage shop there, and the people who run it do lots of fairs & they'll be selling it at those too! Ahhh I'm so pleased, they were so lovely & the commission rate is really good so I'm still going to be making some money from it. I'm going back there on Thursday to deliver my jewellery and then everything's all sorted.
Tomorrow I am going to Sunderland for a ~business meeting~. I'm kind of dreading the hour journey there and back on the metro (also the £4.50 it's going to cost me) but I'm going to take my book with me so that should be fine, and I might actually get my jewellery stocked in a vintage shop there which is exciting!!
Yesterday I sold jewellery at Newcastle Does Vintage and it was VERY GOOD so I am going to chronicle my experiences here.
Sold £95.50 worth of stuff!! Not just jewellery though, I took some vintage things I've been given/don't wear any more with me to sell. So minus the £42 stall fee (pretty steep tbh but not the most expensive one I've sold at) I made £53.50 which is about £9 per hour so pretty great actually!
One of the guys I've seen a lot at other fairs told me that him & his girlfriend have set up a vintage shop and they're trying to find people to sell jewellery in their shop. So far they've not found anyone they liked but he said he's always like my stuff!! he's going to email me details and we shall see but exciting!!!
I was really worried about not making any money at all because I didn't sell any jewellery for the first two hours & I was starting to panic but then this absolutely lovely Scottish woman bought SIX BROOCHES at once!! She was so nice, she said she'd never seen anything like my stuff before (!!) & she said she was going to tell all her friends about my jewellery! But yeah I cannot believe she bought six at once, that has never happened before! After that I started selling more so I feel like she was kind of my lucky charm.
The two people who had the stall next to me were so so lovely & offered to put a few of the vintage dresses I brought with me on their hangers. Also I forgot a box of something when I was packing up & had to drive allll the way back out and they'd put it to one side for me to keep it safe! Ahhh people <3
This was the politest fair I've ever been to, like usually a LOT of people come over to my stall and tell me that they could've made what I made (which, like, great?? Go do that then but don't be so bloody rude) but I didn't really have any of that this time. Sometimes a few other stallholders who make jewellery look at my stuff and say they're "getting ideas" (which basically = stealing mine) but there was absolutely none of that this time, which was good because normally it really gets me down for the rest of the day if that happens. Like, I work really hard making things and coming up with ideas and urgh, it is just really annoying and shitty when people actually come over and tell me they're going to steal them.
Also two of my friends who never usually help me out at fairs came & helped today, and one of them came right from the beginning which means she had to get up early and pay for a bus specifically to come sit and keep me company for a few hours. I really appreciate when people come to help because it's pretty dull tbh. Also they both bought things (the same bracelet actually!)!!

My etsy shop (Strawberry Fields Jewellery) is now open again after three long months! Yaaaaay! I'm travelling back home to Newcastle tomorrow, so all orders made this weekend will be posted on Monday.
I still have lots of pieces in my sale, as well as some cute Christmas themed necklaces. There's nothing new up at the minute, but I'm planning some new cross stitch banner designs which will hopefully be on sale at the end of December/early January!
I will be closing my shop on Wednesday because I'm moving to Sheffield for university & I'm not really sure how much time I'll have to keep up with running it/where I'll store everything. I will be opening it again in December & I'll probably be doing some craft fairs too. I'll still be answering any messages I get though, and probably be updating things on here if I do decide to re-open the shop a bit earlier.
I am almost at 100 likes on the Facebook page for my jewellery shop, it would be lovely if you could help me get there! I'm only 12 likes away (:
I move to Sheffield two weeks tomorrow, and when I leave I'm going to put my shop on holiday mode for a little bit. I'm not sure when I will re-open it, but I know that I need to take a little time to get used to being at university without having extra things to do.
