Who’s the big spoon/little spoon?
It depends on the day! Usually it’s Allison, simply because she’s smaller, but she does get this claustrophobia effect sometimes so she’ll ask to swap. Cam actually loves to be coddled like the baby he is, so he’s happy to be held and loved on.
What is “their song” as a couple?
This is such a hard question to answer hhhhhhohmygod… there are so many amazing songs to choose from. In a sort of tongue-in-cheek way, Brooklyn Baby is their song, seeing as I named the whole fic after it. I mean “my boyfriend’s pretty cool, but he’s not as cool as me” ??? The funny thing is that “Brooklyn Baby” was just a placeholder name that I never got around to changing. Originally this was supposed to be called Cowboy/Nudes, just two parts – the first part “Cowboy” would be SFW, and the second part “Nudes” would be NSFW. We can all see how that went.
For real, though, I think that Into My Arms by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds will always be intrinsically tied to their relationship since it’s what played when they first consummated their love. If you haven’t listened to it before, I implore you to. It’s a beautiful song.

Do they share clothes? If so, what?
Allison loves to wear Cam’s t-shirts. He wears them oversized, so they’re nice and loose and boxy on her, and they smell like him and ugh… She became unofficial custodian of the Peter Griffin x Kirby x Daft Punk monstrosity after the $0 video and sometimes will wear it out in public just to piss him off.
Cam mostly borrows Ally’s jewellery. She’s smaller than him, so most of her clothes don’t fit right on him. He likes to borrow one of her necklaces when he goes on tour, so he has something of hers close to his heart.
Is there a special place that’s significant to their relationship/a favourite date spot?
The first place that Ally and Cam hung out after the Covid restrictions were rolled back was the rooftop of an apartment building near the Brooklyn Bridge. They had to climb up a rickety fire escape to get up there, and they smoked pot and watched the sunset over Manhattan. After being stuck inside for so long, it was a really significant moment for both of them and cemented them as best friends. They like to go back to that spot whenever they’re feeling nostalgic.

SFW favourite body part/physical feature on each other?
The first thing that drew Allison to Cameron were his eyes. (He has the triple threat: dark hair, big nose, negative canthal tilt.) Her crush started when she was in junior year and she was carrying a huge amount of camera equipment to her photography elective, and Cameron happened to be coming out of the stairwell and held the door open for her. She looked up into his eyes and it was like bang! Instant infatuation. Other than that, it’s his arms. Whenever she notices his biceps she feels protected, and finds herself gloating that her man has perfect muscles. Everybody wants his arms around them but only she gets them. Oh and his teeth. His little fangs are very appealing to her vampire infatuation.
Cameron loves her hair. Before he even knew her, he’d seen her walking around and always thought wow, look at her hair! It’s big and bushy and curly and dark, and it’s really hard not to notice. It kind of reminds him of Andie McDowell’s hair, who was one of his childhood crushes when he saw her in St Elmo’s Fire. He also loves her smile. It was one of the first things that endeared him to her, even if he didn’t realise what he was experiencing was attraction. She has this way of lifting her lip up and scrunching her nose that makes her look like a dormouse thing that’s seeing the sun for the first time after hibernation. And that’s not even mentioning her freckles, or her sense of style. There’s just too much that he loves about her to mention it all.
Gifts they’ve given each other?
Cameron is an ephemeral person. He doesn’t usually engage in gift giving or grand gestures unless it’s someone’s birthday or Christmas. That said, he likes to give Allison non-material or non-capital gifts like playlists, songs dedicated to her, flowers he’s stolen from various gardens and nature strips (beautiful in their transient, wilting nature) and hand written love notes. However, for occasions, he does like to go all out. He pays close attention to her interests and shops accordingly – a book from her favourite author here, a miniature room kit there. Never clothes, though. He knows she has a very particular style and feels he could never emulate it for her.
Allison is much more motivated by physical gifts. She’s always trying to foist poor Cameron with something she’s made out of cardboard and toothpicks. He accepts them graciously and has a dedicated “Allison corner” in his apartment, which contains all the things she’s made for him. Some of the things she’s made for him include a photo album full of the hundreds of photos she’s taken of him over the years (what is he supposed to do with this?), a miniature model of a dive bar music venue (one of her favourite hobbies), and a whole stack of mix tape CDs she burned just for him.

Very curious about Cameron and Allison’s Colorado vacation? Besides an awkward sleeping arrangement, what did they get up to over there?
I’m brain storming a future blurb collection about their trip to Colorado, but I’ll tell you that they went there for a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with the rest of the band, but they decided to head down a few days before everyone else so they could do all the touristy stuff in the Denver and Colorado Springs area, explore a bit of the Rockies etc. It was a big influence on Cam’s lyrics for 3D Country and he did a whoooole lot of writing while they were down there.

Changed an accidental claim that Allison had been crushing on Cam since she was fifteen. She discovered she liked him in junior year, so she would have been sixteen or seventeen.
