OC Fact: My boy Stray Tabris is partially deaf, and as he grew up he learned sign language from Valendrian with help from Shianni and Soris. Most of the alienage isn't fluent with it, but many of them know enough to make talking to Stray on a daily basis easier~

My OC Fact: Blue Surana
Had Selective Mutism until she was in her early teenage years. This was characterized by consistent failure to speak interfering with educational achievement and social interaction. Though she was four when she came to the Circle and had the ability to speak, she would not. Many of the Enchanters and Templars believed her to be truly mute for years and she was unable to make friends most of her childhood except Jowan who didn’t seem to mind she didn’t talk. She would occasionally whisper in Jowan’s ear in class and he would speak for her. Blue eventually grew out of it with help from the Senior Enchanters and Knight Commander Greagoir who would encourage/force her to practice talking. Although she is not at all shy, to this day she’s still a quiet person.
