Stray
Rated M | 9K+ | WIP | Klance, Keith-centric
Read here
When he woke up, Keith Kogane was very distinctly not in his bed.
Keith grabbed his head as the memories returned in jabbing, painful flashes, as if they were being forced upon his mind. Shouting. Torches. Gunshots, punching dangerously past the narrow space between his ear and shoulder.
Where am I?
--
The universe is a confusing and complicated place. It holds secrets in its web, contains multitudes in a series of truths that contradict everything Keith knows. And what does he know, anyway?
Keith's only ever been one thing during the span of his life: lost. And that's all he's ever capable of being.
Tripping through the brush, stumbling over hills, and sliding down riverbanks, Keith can run and run and run and run, but he will never find it. No matter how many twisted reflections he sees in the puddles at his feet.
And the stars, they weep.

Stray is officially yours! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I loved writing it.
Thank you so very much to @still--kicking for the endless encouragement, support, and help. This fic wouldn’t be what it is without your wonderful self.
The woods feel alive.
Heed us, heed us, heed us.
Keith never felt worthy of his armor, not since the day Shiro bestowed it upon him, cape flowing behind him on ever-present winds of glory. His smile had been beaming, that day, prideful and sure.
Heed us, heed us, heed us.
Its metal taunts him, now. Every shink is damning. The weight of the blade at his hip feels leaden. When he breathes out, he wonders if the mist coming from his mouth is imagined.
Heed us.
It sounds like his father, like Shiro, like Pidge and Lance and Hunk. Like an unknown woman, her voice strong and gentle in comforting opposites.
Heed us, Keith Kogane.
Something is brewing.
Happy WIP Wednesday! Stray Chapter 2 is officially in the works.
DAY 1 OF FIC-MAS: No Context, Just Vibes
Hey guys! For those who don’t know, I’m running a daily event where I tease my fic with little fun tidbits in the days leading up to its release.
For the first day I’m throwing down a few images about chapter 1 of Stray with no context 🫶
What in tarnation is happening in Stray chapter 1??? Or, as Keith would say,
Where am I?
Find out more tomorrow 😙
The amount of worldbuilding I have to do for every individual chapter of Stray is driving me insane. I literally revise things every minute and will go back on decisions 25 times. I had to make a magical system. I had to create a MAP. For ONE CHAPTER.
Day 9 of Fic-mas! Memes & more
Stray is a fanfiction about not much really besides uh these things
WIP WEDNESDAY
There are ghosts tryin’ to tell me shit I don’t want to hear.
They’re haunting the hills the trees the mountains they echo through the caverns and valleys, singing a song of a lost little boy, wand’ring too far from home.
Where are you lost, boy? Where is home?
Chapter 1 of Stray releases December 24th.
Where are you? Where are you? Where are you?
But it ain’t never once made me scared just to be.
