The amount of worldbuilding I have to do for every individual chapter of Stray is driving me insane. I literally revise things every minute and will go back on decisions 25 times. I had to make a magical system. I had to create a MAP. For ONE CHAPTER.

Saying goodbye hurts so good. Goodbyes morph as you grow up; they shapeshift, become long-lasting and less sure with each spoken word.

It’s the knowledge that you have a wonderful multitude of homes, and you’ll forever be torn between them.

It’s the acute awareness that you’ll never properly appreciate where you are without also weeping for where you’ve been, and might never be again.

It’s the reminder that home isn’t just a place or a people, but a time. A moment, a feeling of comfort, one that escapes your fingers the second you move forward.

Learning to find home in that discomfort is unnatural, and yet you’re forced to do it again and again. From plane to plane, city to city, old friend to new neighbor. And with each footstep, you become so, so strong, athletic with newfound confidence that burns brightly.

Then, at night, when the flames lower to just a murmuring ember… you think of goodbyes. Last hugs. Final kisses pressed to your cheekbones. The rolling wheels of a suitcase, noisy on worn wood.

Any pain, though, is familiar. A nostalgia that breathes an echo of homes.

Hi! :p I'm currently laptop-browsing for college and was wondering what the best option (in your opinion/experience, anyway) would be for bio? (Or ... An iPad?? I've read that both could be useful, but .. ??? Idk) I love your works (and your blog!!), thank you!! 🫶

Hi!! I currently use a Mac because I like the ease of writing and how it connects to my phone, which I has been really handy for notes app and other apps that transfer between the two. An iPad is really good for people who like whiteboard-style studying, especially with chemistry. It’s def not 100% necessary though—I used notebooks because I preferred how they felt! In the end there’s no “right” tool, just whatever you like personally :-)
