Homestead is Holding Steady
Good morning my chickadees. All is well on the homestead. I had to chase 3 stray dogs out of my yard this morning while the chicken flapped and squawked and the guineas sent out the alarm and all the cats dove for cover. Two of the dogs escaped through a hole they dug under the fence, so I blocked the hole with wood. The other one (a large brindled German shepherd) had been cowering by the front gate, but got out on its own somehow.
So I fed the cats and soon everything was back to normal, though I was a bit worse for wear.
The ornamental plum is covered in red leaves now with only a few white blossoms remaining. I’m sad I didn’t get a photo of it in bloom this year. The mulberry is about to leaf out so I have the water dripping under it.
It looks like it’s going to be a sunny day so I hope to get some laundry out on the line.
I did get a lot of knitting done on my shawl the last few days but hardly any knitting done at all on the Arne and Carlos Mystery Knit-a-Long. It’s just too hard to read the chart on my computer, and the library is still closed during the lock down so I can’t get them printed there either.
But the KAL isn’t going anywhere. I may be behind everyone else but that doesn’t mean I can’t make up for it later, once I can print out the charts.
It’s hard to remember what row I’m on if I can’t mark it off as I go along, so it’s not time efficient. Colorwork is slow enough as it is.
I hope the rest of you are holding down the fort. Thanks for dropping by.
