JUMPING at the sudden voice, Stiles whips around, eyes landing on the source. It’s a boy, who, based on his voice couldn’t be any older than Stiles, and he was in pretty bad shape. Bruises covered his body and there was a concerning amount of blood all over him. ❝ my apartment. ❞ He replies bluntly, letting the information sink in that somehow, the guy is still alive. ❝ you fell onto my fire escape. it was like someone dropped you out of the sky. which i guess makes sense considering the whole spider-man getup. ❞ He motions to the outfit that he’s sure has probably seen some better days. ❝ don’t worry, i didn’t touch the mask. i mean i’m not gonna lie i was curious, i thought about it, but i didn’t. ❞ Flipping open the first aid kit that he had dragged out nearly as soon as he had managed to move the unconscious superhero onto his couch twenty minutes ago, he sighs. ❝ i’m gonna be honest i don’t really know what i’m doing and my dad is out and you need to go to the hospital but i’m not sure you can even make it down to my car for me to drive you there. ❞

He’s trembling with his exhale, holding the next breath in to attempt steadying himself.  “I’ll be fine, I just uh…”  Another pause, another beat to clear his throat.  “I’m sorry.” It’s moments like these that he absolutely hates.  The twisting inside, the way he couldn’t seem to control himself.  The fact that he couldn’t hide it no matter how hard he tries.

         Steve understood how much easier it was to just keep everything inside, to protect yourself from the world when the world could never know just how much the pain was destroying you. Sure, it was easier, but in the end, it was only more detrimental to you. Steve wasn’t just about to let a fuckin’ kid to that to themselves. “Hey--don’t apologize...” Steve sat down beside Peter, gaze full of nothing but concern. “What’s going on, Pete?”

Loki was in a rotten mood. He had arrived on Midgard, hoping to at least get some kind of pleasant welcoming after what he had done to help his brother with saving the Asgardians. But nothing had been further from the truth. That weird wizard, Doctor Strange, had questioned him for hours, using his weird magic to keep him severed from his body. And when the man had finally be satisfied, he had been send to the Avengers Headquarters where people watched him with great distrust. 

During the day he was mostly left to his own, they gave him food and all no problem, but he was mostly excluded from everything. Distrust was apparently not that easily conquered, not even by the mortals his brother loved so dearly. And at night, his doors were locked, his room quite magic proof to make sure he couldn’t cause mischief while everyone was asleep.

It’s been a few days now, and he was simply getting tired of the treatment he got. So he sat on the grass near the trees, staring at the headquarters in silence. Watching the Avengers train was for now the only thing he could do that did not seem to rouse suspicion.

    a lot of things had changed in those five years since the incident occurred. emma had both lost people and gained new friends through support groups and online forums. she’d made a name for herself online and made inspirational videos. she wanted to find ways of remembering friends that she didn’t know if she would ever see again. when everyone came back, it was confusing. would she go back into oblivion? would people be upset with her videos? how does someone gain back five years? most importantly, how do you talk to the neighbor you had a crush on that you were two years younger and now... aren’t? are? how does this kind of thing work? is it considered time travel? 

she had wanted to give her neighbors time to settle back in, plus she was spending most of her time the week after the snap talking with family members who lived in the UK that had come back. her father was planning a trip to see them, leaving her back in the states because of school. and because she wasn’t fully ready to travel back there. plus, she kinda... had a big thing happen in the last five years: she had a lungs transplant. it was a miracle, really. because of the snap, the transplant list decreased by over half. they found a match. it made her feel guilty, now, knowing that there were others that probably won’t get the same chance she did now. 

she was finishing putting away the clean dishes from the dishwasher when she heard the voices of ned and peter in the hallway. two people who had been gone the past five years. well, now was as good a time as any to break the silence, right?

opening the front door in a hurry before she lost her nerves, she was able to catch peter before he entered the apartment. “hey... so, do you need my notes from past classes?”  emma, is that really the first thing you say to your crush in five years? apparently, yes, because despite being five years older she apparently still sucks at flirting... or, talking in a normal fashion in general.

To go down the dark, dimly lit alley or to not go down the dark, dimly lit alley? That was the question. Probably a dumb question and most people would tell her to just not be a lazy ass and take the long way home, but she had been on her feet all day at work, and she was tired. “Screw it.” She mumbled to herself, clenching her keys between her fingers to use as a weapon if she needed to. Her feet lightly crunched on the gravel underneath her shoes as she makes her way through the alley-- suddenly becoming a lot more hypervigilant as she walked through the long pathway. This was a stupid idea, Andi.

She can feel that there is someone waiting in the shadows of the back door exit before she even comes upon. She’s stopped for a second and waiting for them to pop out and surprise her, but that moment never comes. Turn around, go now! Andi’s fight or flight is now kicked into high gear as she turns back to leave the alleyway, but not before she hears fast footsteps behind her and a hard yank on her long ponytail-- throwing her into the brick wall. The small women temporarily has the wind knocked out of her from the impact and takes a second to even process what is happening to her. A gun to her stomach and this man’s warm, sour breath sickeningly close to her face, “I said give me all your money...” she hears the sound of the gun being cocked, “... and maybe I won’t kill you!”

Or any animal, really? And that guy made a report on it. I can’t imagine the reaction of people reading the report, if it’s ever published in a textbook or a magazine. Were they ashamed? I know I would have been,”
