hey all. i wanna thank everyone for coming to stream today.
but also i wanna say a few things bc we had quite an awkward interaction today. first and foremost, if you're a new chatter, you should be on your BEST behavior (i mean u should be ALL the time but especially as a new chatter). we're extremely wary of your actions right off the bat bc we don't know u and how you're going to interact with us and our viewers. also we can SEE when you're a new chatter. twitch highlights anyone who's not been there before and says 'new chatter' as well as a few times AFTER you're new to say 'returning chatter' so. we know you're not a regular.
secondly, read our rules before chatting. we don't write them for no reason. (and u can't claim to not know of them or where they are for my stream bc i have them in MULTIPLE places bc i'm tired of getting people who can't act right on my stream. i have it on my about page, as is common but i also have a request to read them before chatting, in the prompt you have to click to confirm you will abide by my requests before chatting, i have a marquee at the top of my overlays scrolling to read them and i have a chat bot timer to display them every so often with a summarized version of the conduct i expect in my chat. fucking read and follow them.)
if u can't offer us the courtesy of following the rules we write to better curate our spaces, we're not gonna give you the courtesy of remaining in our space where we've asked u to act a certain way. that includes being of an age we've requested to NOT interact with our space (MINORS, MY STREAMS ARE NOT FOR YOU)
thirdly, should be obvious but also many people have requested individuals wanting to partake in chatting to not weirdly dump their random complaints or vent excessively in their chat. like, don't come in my chat whining about a bad experience with a different group of people and potentially hoping to garner some kind of sympathy from me bc i don't know you or the group you previously interacted with to weigh in on anything but it's also just incredibly awkward. stay on topic to what's happening in chat, comment on the game or something relevant than this weird 'pick me' -like energy where u want all the attention on you.
lastly but most importantly. do not be fucking racist or hateful in my chat.
i cannot tout the title of 'poc safe space' myself bc i am white and that's not for me to claim; that would be something for actual poc to actually declare themselves if they deem my space worthy of being safe for them to exist in but i will do my absolute best to uphold a safe environment for ANY peoples to exist in. i can however say my channel and space is a queer/lgtbq+ safe space as i am part of that demographic and i will not tolerate hate of any kind towards queer folk either. additionally, it does not matter what ethnicity you claim to be of to justify racist comments, i first of all cannot confirm what your ethnicity is from a pc screen but also if it even were true, it does not give you a pass to make racist comments. just as being queer does not excuse you from making queerphobic or hateful comments. you will be immediately fucking banned for this behavior in my stream.
sorry for the long post but i did not appreciate this behavior in my chat tonight and it was pretty upsetting to have my regular chatters subjected to it and having to deal with it. be fucking normal please...
(in case it needs to be clarified again, my streams are intended for mature, adult, above the age of 18 audiences and it is an inclusive, non-tolerant of hate speech space. if that doesn't sound like it's for you, do not come to my streams. thank you.)
