where I've been (and where I'll be for a bit)

hello echokelly viewers (or sm3 viewers who are interested in this gap in my stream history) I wanted to kinda update ya'll even though most people who watch my streams know what's going on. First, it was my computer, but if you follow me on twitter you'll know that I learned how to rewire my pc just to replace the power supply so that's running smoothly. But other things have happened in my life recently that have affected my ability to (and want to) stream.

Last Monday, my dad got into an ATV accident with his work that left him with a lot of bad facial and torso injuries that have kept him in the ICU, and he's still there. He's had two major surgeries, is on a ventilator most of the time, and isn't really able to move right now. Today I was able to talk to him, and he was able to respond by way of nodding and stuff like that. I wanted to wait to make this post until his condition was more stable, and he has been improving a lot recently. I haven't been in the headspace to stream since this happened, and I don't know when I will be, but I wanted to update people in my circles that don't know me irl.

I know it hasn't actually been that long and I've had periods of no streams longer than this, but I just wanted to keep ya'll updated. My dad's on track to make a full recovery, but it's going to be long and painful, so I'm saving my strength for that. Feel free to DM me to ask any questions or anything, and for the time being, remember to support the other members of the sm3, they're awesome!

Working on modding TTW to hell and back (well not really but heavier than my previous stream was), and hopefully making things work correctly for stream tomorrow (at 3pm CST). Going to be playing the Vegas side of things with the Vulpes companion mod because it's my stream and I said so, a few energy weapon mods, as well as Qolore's new Simple Strip/Freeside Open mods, and the FNV 3DNPC mods! ...which I now realize might need to be patched for the Open mods, oops.

I think that the fog in Dead Money has been fixed to use a more optimized method so I might end up struggling through Dead Money to try it out.

I think this was sent before we began streams or sometime around then, but if you haven’t seen already, I do try to post stream vods with the title card of each episode recap. Or, if you want, you can also find them all here on youtube!

No, but the issue is that setting the stream to public lets anyone in. Once upon a time (literally like the week before we started streams and rabb.it decided to update at the cost of user experience), you were able to set a room to private and throw out a link to anyone who wanted to join, whether they were registered with the site or not. And I’m not sure if rabb.it still does this, but they used to sort of “promote” open rooms that you could join willy-nilly. So a room like ours, with anywhere between 20-50 people, could easily get promoted and then have randos hop in. And when you’re trying to avoid spoilers, that’s dicey. 

Not to mention rabb.it implemented some terrible feature so that anyone - literally anyone - in the room can shut the stream down for...no reason?!

But I don’t think we can take this stream to Twitch so what can you do.

Despite the sarcasm, I’d like to think so too. I’m enjoying it more, so 🤷

And another! Thanks. I’m glad the vods aren’t going to waste and seem to be doing the job? I am enjoying the new format - the entire reason I started liveblogging was to be able to watch the show alongside others (sort of?) so this format really nails that. And I can enjoy the episodes in 11 minutes rather than five hours! 😅
