more streamer!xiao in preparation for the smau 😌 this isn’t in parallel with the storyline of the actual au so i hope there’s no confusion there ! also here is the carrd ,,
his entire gaming set up is pretty much like streamer you see on tweetch with lights typically adjusted to a cool tone (teal and purple) in the background with his camera pointed at him in his gaming chair. he likes to keep fanart either gifted or commission in the background for people to see and he changes it every so often to showcase his fans’ work because he just really appreciates it.
but there is one in particular that he keep up the entire time and that is a piece of him and you with your guys’ back turned, a silhouette against a blueish pink sky (a birthday present courtesy of albedo). it’s not too flashy or cartoony but it is large, taking up over half of the wall space in height and his arm span in width.
in the back xiao also has a long table drawer with presents sent to him that he thinks fit with the aesthetic of the room. there’s a stand for collectable spears from genshin (with a primordial jade winged spear and staff of homa because why not) as well as a ps5 he never uses. more gaming consoles are displayed as well and you can bet that nothing is dusty or dirty despite being exposed and out of boxes. he has one acnl nintendo switch (because it was supposed to be for you but you were gifted one so now you guys can match) and another teal switch lite because childe has no mora boundaries.
a lot of his decor stuff is gifted tbh. like you got him a vase because someone sent him fake flowers and he didn’t know what to do with it. well actually, he stole it from your room and you never questioned how it magically ended up in his.
he did a room tour once but all his chat was asking was where you were after seeing his fanart wall.
you show up on his streams a lot and his fans absolutely adore you, like the fact that you got alatus all soft in that one stream is enough for them to say “he’s whipped, your honor” he’s tried to get his mods to ban them every time they bring it up but they allow the chaos to ensue
even though he seems annoyed when people comment on your relationship (all positive with joking ones asking if you’re single) he doesn’t doesn’t deny how nice it is to have you beside him as he does his stuff. sometimes you aren’t even beside him but in his lap because, after the first incident, he stopped caring about hiding you
the single question does kind of irk him tho it’s amusing to say the least

it’s a messaged attached to a donation so the automated voice says it out loud and by coincidence xiao makes a headshot to the opposing team’s leader. his stoic face turns to his camera afterwards as he looks at the message on the screen again, then back to you whose leaning against him
when you nod he looks so offended in the chillest way possible
you wear his merch when you show up just because, and all because they’re really comfortable. but xiao doesn’t even know that you’re wearing it until right before the stream after you rummage through his closet. he raises a brow but doesn’t say anything in hopes that you never find out that he actually likes when you do that
sometimes you wear a hoodie that hides your shorts and he kinda panics a little because he thinks you don’t have pants on when you stand up. the concern on his face was recorded and he has those moments of exposing his own caring side again. yeah no he threw the blanket he had on over your waist so fast before either of you could register it.
speaking of clothes, his style is pretty nice. he’s in comfy clothes a lot because why dress nice if you’re just streaming but he looks so nice. his signature black hoodie must have holes in it after being worn almost every single stream (but he has like 5 of them that look the same) and his pants have no range to them. they’re all just sweats
but when you move up to his hair and face? please.
his hair is up with a clip or in a little bun to keep out of his face. you can see all his teal hair peeking out from the bottom more so this way. you bought him clips to keep the stray strands in place as well and he color coordinates them if there’s something to match on his clothes or room ambience.
changes his piercings a lot. he’d seem like the type to get piercings but just on his ears. he has three lobe piercings, a double helix, and a tragus on his left ear. xiao likes to wear black or silver earrings depending on the lighting. they are most apparent when his hair is up and out of the way of course.
someone mailed him a fake lip piercing and he put it on a for a stream but the chat had to be disabled for five minutes because he kept moving it around in, ways

keqing has been one of xiao’s longest friends, since elementary school, when xiao took the last popsicle and wouldn’t give it to her. he showed up with a purple one the next day to apologize
ganyu and xiao were friends since they were babies as their parents knew each other, they would share many things and treat one another as family
hu tao was drawn to xiao because he laughed when no one else did after a prank she pulled, but he walked away when she noticed and though she soon became his friend. he doesn’t mind her, he actually likes her enthusiasm but will never admit to it
xiao prefers hu tao’s eyeliner and nail painting methods over keqing’s so he asks her for help instead
childe does stream occasionally with xiao but only knows him as alatus, he doesn’t know that he’s xiao

It isn’t everyday a new shop like this opens and your bubbly curiosity of friend would always take the opportunity to try something new. After all, it was his style; hopping from place to place to test it out, like the wind you would muse to him to which he would always laugh but never deny.
It’s a quaint little shop on a street corner, not too far from your campus that you are currently considering making it a potential lunch spot for breaks. The atmosphere is cozy when you enter the shop and if it weren’t for Venti’s grandiose waving you would have never guessed there’d be other people joining you.
“I already ordered stuff for us to try,” Venti says when he forces a break in his conversation to inform you, “Okay, but what about city girls meeting country guys? That’s a classic!” Half-listening and snickering along to what they were saying, you skim down the place not looking for anything in particular. It seemed to mainly been a sweets shop with a few savory snacks so you were certain what drew Venti to this place.
“I already ordered stuff for us to try,” Venti says when he forces a break in his conversation to inform you, “Okay, but what about city girls meeting country guys? That’s a classic!” Half-listening and snickering along to what they were saying, you skim down the place not looking for anything in particular. It seemed to mainly been a sweets shop with a few savory snacks so you were certain what drew Venti to this place.
You lean to the left and rest your head on your hand, almost tipping over when Aether shakes your shoulder to get your opinion. “Hm? I like the Christmas one.”
“They’re all in during Christmas!” Is the only thing they seem to agree on saying. You laugh and shrug your shoulders, realizing then that another person had walked up to your table. His eyes are on his phone and don’t leave as he takes a seat. You didn’t consciously do so but your body tenses when you realize who it was.
“The food didn’t come yet?” Xiao asks as he locks and tucks his phone in his back pocket. Aether shakes his head and makes a face.
“You took a long shit, I could smell it from here.” He doesn’t dodge the foot kicking his shin fast enough and barely conceals his yelp of pain. Xiao shakes his head, scoffing when his eyes land on you.
“Oh, hey.” He greets. If he weren’t associated with the other two you would have found this place to be out of character for him. You grin back.
“Hi.”
There’s a brief moment of silence, as the other duo finished their debate that they had enough time to share a look that you two hadn’t noticed. Luckily a server comes by with the food before the silence had time to really settle in. She bids you all to enjoy before rushing back to another table.
“Anyway, I know you guys were the only free ones today so that’s why you’re here,” Venti starts, taking a sip of his drink, “and it’s on me.” He smiles but the three of you aren’t so easily swayed. “What? Why are you all looking at me like that?”
“It better be.”
“You have a job?”
“Am I dreaming?”
The musician gapes at all of you who return to your own plates when deciding that he’s had enough teasing for the day. In retaliation, the entire time you’re there he picks off food from the sides of your dishes, only managing the least from Xiao’s. It was worth the effort.
Speaking of, you didn’t expect his dish to be so… sweet-looking. It looked similar to the almond tofu that he kept in the fridge only with little balls of green, pink, and white jelly with it. You never knew him to be a picky eater, well with all the food you’ve been making that you are sure he eats everything of (at the expense of your own embarrassment), but you swear there’s a hint of a smile on his face.
You don’t know why you’re suddenly staring but it’s nice to see your roommate in a different light that you feel off for not seeing it sooner. Seeing as you live together, all things considered. But you must have been staring too long that the next time you dart your attention from his dish to his eyes you’re met with them looking right at your own.
There’s a slight raise of a brow on his part and what you absolutely did not expect was the slight push of his plate your way and a gesture from his fork to try it.
“Really?” You ask.
“You’ve been staring at it. Try it.” He gestures once more. You reach over with your utensil and scoop a good amount to taste test. It was a lot sweeter than you anticipated, but this was just a menial surprise on top of what had just happened. “How is it?” He asks you, returning his attention back to his dish.
“Good,” You mutter and you barely catch that slight quirk of his lips again.
Well, that made your next decision much easier to have a motivation for.

y/n and lumine are childhood friends and they’ve lived next to each other for years. y/n’s friends with aether too but is not as close to him as they are with lumine
y/n met venti in their first year of high school when they both saw each other on the rooftop after ditching class. talked, shared similar interests, and became friends right then and there
lumine and childe have a sort of rivalry that’s mostly one sided (childe likes teasing her), but it’s all in good fun knowing that they are actually genuine friends
childe is someone y/n can trust in a lot as he always there for them to vent about anything. they started really talking in middle school when lumine introduced them to each other officially
venti avoids diluc on campus because he can’t pay him back

keqing has banned them from the chat many times and every single time hu tao has been brought back she always sends the same shrek meme
ganyu’s note rants took minutes to scroll to the bottom of and her vocabulary is indeed larger than what she usually uses. she’s just too polite
xiao always sees their notifications, he just doesn’t respond because 1) he doesn’t have anything to say, 2) he’s in the middle of a nap (he rarely naps, too), or 3) he doesn’t want to
