There are far worse things going on in the world right now, but I decided to cut a couple streaming accounts off my monthly budget. Things are getting tight. Crave+HBO, Disney +, and Marvel Unlimited are gone, saving about $45. I still have Netflix, Amazon Prime (annual membership), Shudder (at $5.99, it’s the most reasonable of them all), Criterion (annual), plus Spotify.
Have you cut any of your channels? What did you keep and why?
Just spreading the word: For those who don't have TOKU on their sattelite/cable services, the TV channel just announced their availability with Amazon Prime. It's relevant because Ultraman Neos, Nexus, Max, Seven X, and soon after, Cosmos & The Ultraman anime will be included in the service soon after. (Warning: Max is dubbed!!!)

It is an extra subscription ($4 a month) but for Ultraman series I have not seen yet like Ultraman Neos, Ultraman Cosmos and the animated series, I am totally willing to make that sacrifice!
Yes, some of these series are already available on Crunchyroll (Max in Japanese with subtitles and Nexus) but to see some of the other series that I can’t get a hold of will be fantastic!

Please don’t get Hulu
Hulu has always had the potential to be an awesome streaming service, and they have always turned their back on that potential.
I don’t know why we have it.
I used to like it because it was easier, less problematic than Netflix when traveling. I never had any troubling pulling up Hulu at the dentist office, for example. Netflix, on the other hand, has given me problems at home, forget about mobile!
Here’s my issue:
Content wise, Netflix has always beat Hulu so I would always default to Netflix, spend more time on that. Yet, I have lost track of all the shows that simply vanished on me, on Hulu, it has happened so often. Whole series, yes, or even episodes! They must do it deliberately. Or at least I always assumed they did. Like once I decided to watch Supernatural on Hulu because they were streaming the current season, while on Netflix you have to wait until the whole season is over & done with, then all the episode appear at once. On Hulu I could catch them as they came out. But I was behind and, next thing you know, everything short of episode-11 was gone! So I could either PAY for the missing episodes in order to catch up, stop watching and wait six months or longer for it to show up on Netflix or skip ahead to episode-11, forgetting about the missing episodes.
Entire shows have also vanished on me...
I mean, maybe there’s a warning somewhere, telling you when this is going to happen, but somehow I’ve managed to miss it EVERY. TIME. And it’s been a lot. And, like I said, this is with most of my TV time going to Netflix!
It’s just a horrible service.
Don’t get Hulu. If you absolutely positively need something other than Netflix, try Amazon prime. It used to suck out loud, I know, but it’s gotten a lot better.
Yes, I remember the shockingly limited “Unlimited Service” of old, where you’d search for a title and no matter what you punched in it would always try to sell you something not the least bit similar...
Amazon Prime is a lot better now. Certainly it’s better than Hulu.
Damn, watch Youtube videos if you half to. Even that’s better than a crappy, unreliable service.
