A random headcanon: a lot of Edward's negative thoughts about himself come from living with Carlisle alone during his formative vampire years. Carlisle's own self-loathing was loud in his head, especially around the time he first changed Edward and had no one to talk him out of this opinion. When Esme came along, he had a more mature mind to match his own, and she could change his viewpoint. Edward, on the other hand, just absorbed it all and found himself to be a monster, just as his creator saw himself also.
General Opinion over said character: he's so sexy and at fault for so many things that he would never acknowledge which is far less sexy. I like to think that he would be someone to be constantly letting his views on the world evolve, that once he realised his mistakes (if they were pointed out to him) he would learn from them. I think one of the reasons he has made so many mistakes is because there are those in his family who would not question him; he's in an echo chamber and that stunts his ability to grow. I like to think that with Bella in the family, she is able to point these things out to him as a fresh pair of eyes, but she tends to put him on a pedastal like the rest of them, so maybe he's doomed to be villain forever, without ever realising.

General opinion: he needs to chill out, because if he had the chance to rule the world, he absolutely would and that's not a realistic goal

A random headcanon: she's the quietest out of the sisters, happier to let Tanya take the lead and Kate take the attention. She's still pretty outgoing, but is a wallflower compared to her sisters. She's genuinely kind and caring, and so when she went to the Volturi it broke her heart. After seeing what happened with Vasili and the destruction it caused, she couldn't bear to think what an immortal child with the Cullen's protection could do and she was devastated to do it. But she believed that the Cullens had betrayed the lifestyle that her family was committed to, to preserve peace and human life, and it looked like they had turned into monsters. She didn't do it out of revenge for Laurant, but because she was putting the lives of thousands of humans above the lives of those she loved like family.
General opinion: I actually love her, she did NOTHING wrong. As far as she knew, the Volturi were good, they were the power that kept the vampire world safe and secret, and they made the hard decisions that others would not. I genuinely think that she made a selfless decision. From her point of view, if she had got any closer to Bella and Jake and Renesmee, she might have been attacked by the Cullens to protect the 'immortal child' and they might have killed her. She acted hastily, but she had no reason to believe that if she was mistaken, she would be executed unlawfully. She didn't deserve her fate, or the misunderstanding of fans :(
