Her Lord husband, the King, had refused to come out of his solar to welcome the Stark-girl to the Red Keep. He had told her that he deigned her unimportant, that he would not show himself for his son’s whore. Rhaella, on the other hand, was curious about the girl so many battles had been fought for.
So she had gathered up Viserys and little Daenerys and had made her way to the Great Hall, where Rhaegar would present her. The two little ones were playing behind the Iron Throne, and Rhaella herself was seated on the smaller chair besides the iron monstrosity her husband usually sat upon.
The Queen had barely sat down when it was announced that the Crown Prince and Lyanna Stark had arrived. All who had gathered in the Great Hall to see the Stark Girl rose to their feet and turned towards the doors, as did Rhaella.
“Open the doors!” She called out.
