Hiya Eu!! It's been a long time since you last did one, and it's occurred to me that I never asked for one, so I thought I'd drop you an ask for the bike meme! Nationality: Aussie. Fave colour: black, blue, or purple. About me: I'm a no bullshit kind of person, I value logic and intelligence pretty highly although power and skill is a bit of a kink of mine. I don't think I'm the most outgoing person, but I do question social norms, often preferring to live outside them. I hope that's sufficient!
That’s plenty sufficient! I always get into trouble looking for Australian motorcycle manufacturers. There were basically two and they weren’t very noteworthy outside Australia. The only brand color mentioned is blue and that’s usually Suzuki (and sometimes Yamaha).
When it comes to a package that includes power, logic, thinking outside the box, and maybe a little less outgoing that actually puts me in mind of the Suzuki Boulevard M109R.
I don’t usually go with cruisers, but I think the Boulevard fits your criteria. When this now classic design came out, people mocked the headlight design. I used to joke that it looked like a Hayabusa shoved up the ass of a Vespa. But that unusual design is an example of thinking outside the box and giving the world of motorcycles something new. There isn’t a lot of risk-taking in cruiser design so that took some guts.
As for power, how about 1,783 ccs? Easy going? This bike is powerful but it feels it’s best when you’re going through long, sweeping curves. For no bullshit you get a tried and true liquid-cooled V-Twin. Intelligence? It has the Hayabusa’s front brakes and Suzuki’s leading suspension cartridges and other internals in the inverted front forms.
And new this year? The black and blue color scheme. I guess it was fate!
