I was thinking of Belos being affectionate to Reader and then I kinda took a step back and realized how terrifying it is. Not only because he really isn't much of an affectionate person in general, but also because there would also be 100% something else going on, probably manipulation. I still want him to hold me, tho.

It is absolutely terrifying. To draw affection from someone who is considered merciless by his own men should put you on edge considering you're a target and you will be one until either he loses interest (fat chance), he obtains you, or he kills you. You also don't know how the relationship would change once he has you, like how people sometimes change for the worst after marriage.

But fuck, mood. I want to be in that hellfire. At least I know I would be safe... for even a short time. You know those hands have committed atrocities and can turn on you at any given moment.

That, my friends, is called a danger kink or being an autassassinophile 8D "If it can kill me, I want it."

Another beautiful breakdown of the themes and relationships in Legacy of Kain by Strictly Fantasy.

I especially like their take on Kain and Raziel’s relationship. How Kain’s betrayal of Raziel was so much worse than what he had experienced, because of the loyalty Raziel had previously shown him. How it differs from how Kain was betrayed.

How Raziel benefited from Kain’s mentoring, even if it did result in such a brutal betrayal. And the interesting antagonistic dynamic following the betrayal. One that I think did come full circle and was resolved at the end.

The comparison between the two is very interesting.

I don’t think there will ever a be a game series that captures my imagination as much as Legacy of Kain.
