Re: Patron Saints. Francis De Sales is for writers and journalists in general. Personally I'd also throw in a call to Hildegard Von Bingen. She was a bit of a jack of all trades but she both wrote and painted a lot of her visions and wrote music AND studied natural science. Also when in doubt, St Jude: Saint of Hopeless Cases.

How'd you differentiate some of the most notable/popular various breeds/strains of vampirism, from the 3 types of strigoi, to the moroi, muroni, nachzeher, upior, vampir, wurdulak, etc.?
... Are you psychic? I literally was just reading about strigoi this past week.
Okay, I would ignore everything I've written/drawn pre-2020, because my methods have changed. Nowadays I'm trying to work off of primary sources, because what's written in them tends to be pretty darn interesting, compared to just making stuff up or following trends in popular fiction.
Case in point: the strigoi and strigoiaca. This past week I read "Romanian Folklore and Literary Representations of Vampires" by Tudor Balinisteanu to learn more about them. And, surprisingly, strigoi aren't very vampire-like. They're more akin to witches or sorcerers. Here's a write-up I did using the information from the source above and a few other bits and bobs:
Inhuman sorcerers native to Romania. These beings are feared not only for their powers, but for the fact they can operate dead as well as alive. Strigoi are born from humans corrupted by unclean forces while in the womb. This may cause birth complications, such as a caul or premature death. In life, strigoi are usually undetectable. Prejudice states strigoi often have red hair or display symptoms of autism or mental illness. In truth, strigoi have no features which can be identified as a human. When they sleep, the "true" strigoi exits the human body in the form of a pinkish fluid or mist. Strigoi in this state resemble tall, crooked humanoids dressed in a pink, blood-stained caul, with a tail covered in hair, claws, and red eyes. When asleep, living strigoi travel the lands around their home sowing chaos in their wake. The trouble isn't intentional, rather they pursue pleasure for themselves and care not if it's at the expense of others. Strigoi feed by consuming the nourishing energy found in food, blood, and milk. This doesn't consume the substance as it would were it eaten, but it does rob it of any nutrition. Strigoi travel by subjugating horses, thunder clouds, or people to their will. People will be turned into horses for the sorcerer's convenience. Locked doors cannot stop them, as they can disassemble themselves into most to pass through even the smallest cracks. Strigoi are very territorial and will fight one another at most opportunities. These fights will either be magical in nature or physical. Like other malevolent beings in the Balkans, they're most infamous for causing droughts. They do this by enchanting the rain clouds and preventing them from dropping their water. Strigoi can still operate when dead. The true form rises out of the corpse from its grave and continues along. In this state they're more dangerous, as living strigoi are at least connected to their family and ignore them or try to provide for them with sorcery. Dead stirgoi have no such relationships and will target anything or one. They can be defeated by preventing the true body from reentering the corpse before sunlight. Undead strigoi cannot suffer sunlight and dry up into nothing when exposed.
I was planning on drawing the "inhuman" form of the strigoi after I finished some dnd tokens for my campaign.
How I would go about differentiating them is by looking at what traits they're assigned. Unfortunately this does involve a lot of reading, so I wouldn't be able to do a proper write-up for all of them until I've found literate on them all.
