Strike ref when ????
They're all in the works!
Why did you give Strike such a long tail?
There's definitely a larger rationale that led to giving him such a long appendage, but the most truncated way to put it is "because it looks cool."
While most of the crew is reliant on additional weaponry to various extents for combat, Strike uses a more direct, physical fight style. His tail being his primary weapon can lead to what I hope will be interesting and unique battles between him and our duo. It challenges me also to be more creative in his capabilities.
I also wanted to convey a slithering vibe without going the obvious route of making him a snake. You're supposed to feel kinda unsettled when he appears. The tail can be a powerful, visually dramatic way to take up more space and immediately feel like he's dominating a scene. It's all about making him intimidating and having a visual device that can work well for doing unique compositions too.
As silly and almost illogical as it looks, if the story can suspend a reader's disbelief enough for its sake, then I'll feel I've achieved that goal.
What’s with Heater and the toothpick?
Because it makes him cool and like he doesn't afraid of anything.
(Full coherent reasons under the cut)
I noticed that Cucho can speak Spanish. Is he himself Spanish/Latino?
He is! Like how the Unleashed Hub Worlds are based on certain regions in real life, there's an area that's the Central American equivalent where he originates. (Tho he specifically is based mostly on Mexican culture.)
And since the Ancient Echidna's are the Mayan/Aztec equivalent, perhaps they had some connection to Chucho's ancestral peoples. The former was a massive world power at their peak....
Who's to say?
So I follow you on twitter bc i don’t have a tumblr anymore but I wanted to ask you (anon cause I’m shy) I saw art of Chucho and a yellow bat girl and they so cute and I love to see in your style pleaseeee
Hey anon! I did make a response comic featuring these two lovebirds. Though it's not quite as romantic as the original art it's based on haha
(Here's some of the art anon is referring to! The owner of this cute fc named Emi the Bumblebee Bat, commissioned quite a few adorable arts of her and Chucho together! There's more here and here!)
Foiled again by the power of love!!!!
