The New Kids (Striking Back, 1985)
"Now, you see, you pushed me. You pushed me too far!"
Today I discovered I live in a homophobic community. The YES campaign had put up posters by the train station I use every morning. Some homophobe got red paint and some bullshit stickers about the Bible, painting 'NO' across them all. @origamicacti and I swiftly acted to replace this hatred with love. We spent hours creating positive signs, covered with messages of pride and hope. We felt so empowered and knew we were doing the right thing. We didn't even mind when a guy passing by in a car told us it was 'garbage'. It was the best thing to do in the situation and we felt great. Cut-to tonight, my girlfriend comes home to show us photos of almost every single one of our handmade signs viciously destroyed. I cannot believe someone would have that much hatred in their hearts. I'm saddened and I'm frightened that someone like that could be living so near to me.

I remember reading about The New Kids in Fangoria back in 1985 and seeking it out as a VHS rental. An entertaining Death Wish via high school action / revenge movie
