This unique striped outfit first appeared on Katharine Hepburn as Tracy Samantha Lord in the 1940 film 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒉𝒊𝒂 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚, though it was only seen in black and white at the time.   In 1952 it was used again in 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏’ 𝑰𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒂𝒊𝒏 on an extra, where it was shown to be white with red and blue stripes.   See more at Bit.ly/PostEd128
