Btw if (one of) your arguments for abortion rights is “People need to be able to abort disabled babies because their quality of life will be bad” … umm… I have so much to say about that and none of it is very supportive
#the solution to how difficult it is to raise disabled children in most places is#free respite care and free public childcare#stronger communities#more disability education and MORE exposure to disabled people#not getting rid of as many as you can#lots of these kids and adults are grateful to be alive and are doing great things#there was a country in Scandinavia that implemented mandatory prenatal genetic testing for disabilities#and let’s just say most babies with Down syndrome didn’t make it#which is a profoundly poorer world to live in
