CCO Partner Bryan Duffie finished 4th overall and 4th in SSP during the August IDPA match at the Richwood Gun and Game Club held on August 22, 2015. Given the two moving/limited exposure targets in the match, he shot a relatively clean course of fire with only 8 shots not in a -0 scoring section.
"The monthly IDPA match is a always a good way to evaluate training progress. There's no warm up and the stages require you to perform under pressure and against the clock," Duffie said. "The first two stages I felt completely in the zone where everything happened exactly the way it is supposed to. The third stage had a dropping target which led to rushing the second shot on the target that released the moving target. That was good for a dropped shot on what should have been an easy target."
"The fourth stage I did a tactical reload on an empty chamber. Oops. Big time lost there," he elaborated. "Overall, I'm not here for the game, but to see how my skills stack up against the courses and clock. Paper targets and shot timer's don't lie. A podium finish would be cool, but I'd rather have a completely clean day and finish in the top 15% of the raw times for the day."
Duffie shoots with the following gear:
Glock 19
Warren sights (Tritium front and plain rear)
Volund Gearworks Atlas G-Hook belt
Comp-tac Minotaur holster
