Do you think that Andrias sexually abused Marcy? He gave her gifts (the statue), which is a common tactic for abuse, and he also...impaled her with his fire penis-sword.
CW: rape, child sexual abuse
No, I don't think Andrias literally sexually abused Marcy. There are certainly sexual undertones to his behavior, not just ramming his sword through her but also violently inserting another person into her body. And he does literally groom her: showering her with gifts and attention, posing as a trusted adult while lying to and manipulating her for his own selfish ends.
But I believe that the sexualization of Andrias' violence against Marcy is strictly metaphorical. Marcy is very surprised by his betrayal in True Colors, which I think would be less likely (albeit not impossible) had he already sexually abused her by that point.
Rather, I think Andrias and the Core are the manifestations of some extant trauma or emotional baggage that Marcy is dealing with. Possibilities include:
Reenactment of sexual abuse suffered on Earth.
Discomfort with sex in general, possibly influenced by unwanted sexual attention from adults or peers, and possibly overlapping with asexuality.
Body dysphoria severe enough that puberty feels like a physical violation on par with rape.
Rape kink. (This feels unlikely on its own, but it might overlap with something else.)
I love your AMVs. You pick music that perfectly encapsulates the characters and their desires. It must take a lot of work to make them (compiling the scenes, editing, etc.) so thank you.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy them.
It took me two full days and an evening to make the Sashanne vid. I'm guessing the Marcy one took about 2–3 times as long, although I wasn't counting. It's easier when there's less overall content to choose from.
Does religion (the middle school that Anne, Sasha, and Marcy go to, etc.) play any part in your Amphibian meta?
Yes, a little so far. Anne stealing the Calamity Box reads to me as Eve and the forbidden fruit, with Sasha playing the role of serpent (and Marcy as, idk, God maybe). And I think it's possible that Marcy's propensity for catching fire might be about the punishing flames of Hell.
- Night owl, definitely. There have been days where I never go to sleep.
📺
- Dragon Ball, I saw it every chance I got.
🔮
- Two pieces of advice: Don't be afraid to do new things or talking out loud, and painful as it is to say, Don't listen to everything your father says.
🏘
- Two half-siblings. One an older sister from my father's side the other a younger brother from my mother's side.
On the Rainbow Dash/Applejack thing, they never officially got together, but it was heavily implied that they were at least living together at some point in the future.
Rainbow Dash: Maybe we could get to places on time if you let me do some of the chores instead of always doing everything yourself.
Applejack: Maybe I would if you did them the right way. Oh. Sorry. We're not the last ones, are we?
When asked if Applejack and Rainbow were romantically involved, Jim Miller (a storyboard artist and co-director) said that it was open to interpretation.
Huh.
While I do know many of the details, I actually stopped watching the show in full somewhere around season 4.
I still go to fimfiction to read, and one of my favorite fics is from there, but it seems I've missed quite a few details.
When you combine purple (red and blue mixed together) and green, you get a muddy brown. It still fits the Calamity Trio though, since all of their eyes are brown.
Thanks.
...Wasn't it official that Sasha's eyes were blue?
