The Space Shuttle Challenger’s 9th (and final successful) flight (STS-61-A) launched on 30 October 1985. It was the 22nd mission in the shuttle program.
The week-long mission included more than 75 scientific experiments, and included the largest crew (8 members) of any shuttle mission.
"The Space Shuttle Challenger (OV-099) makes the first landing using nose wheel guidance control at the conclusion of Space Transportation System mission 61A."
