theres something to be said for the imagery of gillion floating on the surface for an unknown amount of time, lost in his own self-loathing, only for a stray ship to find him, and an arrogant, immature pirate being the one to pull him out of the water and give him a home.

theres something to be said for a righteous, powerful warrior of destiny being tricked and belittled by someone who hides all of his emotions and trauma behind a mask of jest. who pushes people away because he's afraid that any attachments he makes will also leave him or be lost.

theres something to be said for this righteous warrior hiding his self-loathing, his fear of failure, his biggest mistakes and proclaiming himself a champion, the hero of the people. he's moved by destiny, because how could that have happened to him if it wasn't meant to happen? if it wont lead him on a path to redeem himself?

theres something to be said for this warrior challenging his so-called friend to a fight to the death, because he trusted him and time and time again, his friend betrayed that trust.

theres something to be said for this pirate, who knows nothing but lying and hiding behind a mask, slowly opening up and staunchly refusing to lie to Gillion, no matter how much the idea tempts him.

I think you misread it, I didn't say DNI BIID; I said DNI transabled people, but added in brackets that people with BIID were ok to interact.

BIID, or Body Integrity Identity Disorder, is--to use the definition from Google-- "Body integrity dysphoria (BID, also referred to as body integrity identity disorder, amputee identity disorder and xenomelia, formerly called apotemnophilia) is a mental disorder characterized by a desire to have a disability or having discomfort with being able-bodied beginning in early adolescence and resulting in harmful consequences."

I'm OK with people with BIID interacting, provided they get that just because they have the disorder does not mean that they have the disability they wish to obtain due to their disorder.

What I am not okay with is "transabled" people, or people who identify as having disabilities they don't actually have (and refuse to recognize the wish as coming from a mental illness/disorder). I.e. a person who identifies as an amputee and wants to be welcomed in amputee spaces, despite having all their limbs, or a person who wishes to "become autistic" and identifies as "a trans-autistic person who's learning how to mask their allistic traits and pass as autistic". (I've seen both those things directly :/)

TLDR BIID is a mental disorder in which someone desires a disability. As BIID in itself is a disorder, I do not have anything against the people with it. My problem only arises when people identify as "transabled" and try to enter spaces of the disability they "should" have, claiming that it's theirs (or "should" be theirs) too, as that is severely overstepping & ableist.
