STUDENT EIGHT: INTERVIEW SESSION

Mr. Cheng: Ayun siya oh, upo ka muna teh.
Student P: Sir Cheng? Bakit ka andito?
Mr. Cheng: Well obviously, since yung mag-iinterview sainyo ay hindi “okay” ngayon. Ako muna pinalitan para interviewhin kayo. I mean, atleast makakapagsalita kayo pag ako kaharap niyo! (Chuckles)
Student P: R-Right..
(Student P was then seen sitting down while Mr. Cheng sets up his desk)
Mr. Cheng: Alright, before we start do you feel comfortable sitting on your chair?
Student P: Yeah, I–
Mr. Cheng: Perfect! So, before we start, I will let you know that this interview will be recorded so that we, teachers, will review your information. Don't worry as well, we’ll keep this between us, It's private anyway.
Student P: Right.. okay.
Mr. Cheng: Oookay! Before I ask you any questions, can you state your name and occupations muna?
Student P: A-ay, sige. Uhm.. hello, I’m Jobert Dairus Castillo-Mapatawad. Isa akong Art Therapist.
Mr. Cheng: I see, anong ginagawa mo bilang Art Therapist?
Student P: Instead po na parang nagcocommunicate ako verbally, ginagamit ko yung painting para ma-express ng isang tao yung feelings nila. I believe people who are unable to open just need visuals to make their head clearer.
Mr. Cheng: Taray ha, nagagamit mo ba ‘yan sa everyday life mo?
Student P: S-sorry po..?–
Mr. Cheng: Do you have any allergies na siguro aware dapat kami?
Student P: I-I’m.. not sure if meron ako..? Nagkakaroon lang ako ng rashes tuwing kumakain ng itlog eh.
Mr. Cheng: Okie, what about symptoms?
Student P: Nangangati lang lalamunan ko ngayon.
Mr. Cheng: Oo nga, bawal kasi manigarilyo dito sa school before pero good thing nagchange na sila ng ventilation. Bawasan mo nalang rin yung paninigarilyo..
Student P: S-sige sir, noted..
Mr. Cheng: Alrighty, may mga phobias ka ba?
Student P: I’m not sure lang.. siguro takot ako sa daga?
Mr. Cheng: Seryoso ka ba? Daga?
Student P: E-eh?! Sir naman! Natural lang naman matakot sa daga kaya..
Mr. Cheng: Kimi lang te, ‘no ka ba? It's a natural thing to be scared of mice and rats. They carry dangerous chemicals and viruses like yung pinaka-common, leptospirosis. So, yeah, it's valid.
Student P: T-thank you po, sir..
Mr. Cheng: Anyways, last question before ka namin ibalik sa kulungan mo. Charot lang.
(Mr. Cheng can be heard letting out a laugh while Student P can be seen nodding awkwardly)
Mr. Cheng: If you could have one wish that's related to your batchmates, what would it be and why?
Student P: A-ah, related sa peers I see.. uhm.. hmm..
(Student P falls silent while Mr. Cheng taps his pen on his clipboard before Student P was seen speaking again)
Student P: I guess, maalis yung awkwardness ko, especially sa mga tao na hindi ko ka-close po.
Mr. Cheng: Okay! Done and done. Later ma-escort ka sa kwarto mo, wait lang natin ang signal. I’ll also stop recording na.
Student P: S-sir, wait.. okay lang ba magtanong if—(AUDIO CUTS)
