🧲 — while erik lehnsherr had long been a proponent for education, it wasn’t to say that now that he was well into his nineties [ mentally only now as he was so often reminded in the mirror ] that he didn’t find his job as a professor taxing from time to time. this day in particular was no exception, having answered idiotic question after idiotic question about modern history throughout the day. if there was ever a day that had proven the phrase ‘there are no stupid questions’ wrong, it was this day. as his final class for the day let out, he sat at his desk, gathering his things as the students flooded out. just as he prepared to stand up, he noticed someone standing there, and without bothering to get a good look at them, he remarked “you know, when i said any student with questions could meet with me after class, it was more of a metaphor than an actual offer... but go on.”
