This weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Students United Advocacy Conference at Saint Paul College. As advocates, it's vital to realize our limits, prioritize our missions and practice self-care. This conference taught me how to do all of those things, something I desperately needed! “Enough is enough!” Today’s walkout was a huge success. I was so honored to make a speech, walk out and march with my fellow classmates. Though there was and is a lot of anger, frustration, fear and worry, we are turning it into action. I’m so proud of all of us for standing up and making our voices heard. If you didn’t walk out and march, that’s ok. Contact your local legislators and lawmakers! Also, Don’t forget to bring your voice to the March of Our Lives on March 24th! Parli Pros

I don't know if any of you have actually watched and parliamentary procedure actually go down.

Well, I work for this wonderful organization called, Students United. We as an organization work, in short, to make the 7 Minnesota State colleges better universities and to make higher education more affordable and work on a local, state and federal legislative levels.

We hold big conferences called Delegates 3 times a year, in which we write motions that all 7 state colleges have to follow and abide by and attempt to pass them using parliamentary procedures. And let me tell you, these are impossible to make it through if you're not sitting at the table for most of the session.

I'm at one of these rn, and I haven't been given the chance to sit at the table yet, and honestly I'm about to fall asleep due to how bored I am.

Give us what we want or we will take what we need. Ethnic Studies saved my life and has never EVER told me that I was incapable of doing anything because of who I am or how much money I have. Ethnic studies is good for everyone and it makes this world an easier place to live in when you understand no matter what the color of your skin is, your economic class, or whatever else that makes you feel oppressed in this toxic society you are loved and your voice matters.
